I did say that I was going to stop doing this!

When seeking assistance from Forum users it's a really good idea to supply as much information as possible regarding the computer, and operating system you are using.

NOTE: HX Edit cannot connect to a hardware unit in a failed state!

Be aware that these “get out of jail free” instructions were written for an earlier version of the firmware, so you must simply use the latest versions of when any older revision is mentioned.

If you follow these instructions precisely you should be up and running pretty soon.

In future, please ensure you read all the relevant Release Notes before attempting to update any Firmware.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

well ive tried everything i have read and nothing has helped.

never had a problem updating in the passed

Okidoki.

No promises that this will definitely work, but it won't hurt.

Download Line 6 Updater.

Download Firmware v2.80.

Plug in to your computer and switch on your Helix.

Open Line 6 Updater in offline mode.

Find your device, and do a manual install of the v2.80 firmware you downloaded.

When done, close Line 6 updater,, unplug the Helix and do a factory reset of the Helix.

Plug the Helix in to the computer.

Open HX Edit. Follow every instruction to the letter and be patient. I expect there to be an error message along the way. Don't panic. Keep following the onscreen instructions.

Assuming it updates successfully,  do another factory reset and install a backup of your presets.

i am getting driver error on both computers never had this problem before idk why its doing this now. so with the driver error neither computer recognizes the helix so it cant update. ive uninstalled all line 6 software to see if this would work by re-installing ,  did this for both computers, unless i made a mistake along the way from frustration, that hasnt worked either and ive tried different usb cables to make sure thats not the problem. kinda of letting it lay to the side a bit for other problems in life, was going to take it to a service center but just dont have the extra cash for that right now. but iam still open to suggestions  and thank all for the support thats already been given.

Hi,

I had a dig around in some previous posts, and it appears to me that the problem is with Windows 11 Pro core isolation.

Check these threads out.

Plus

More.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

i really thought that would work .  so far it hasnt. thanks

Hmm... now I'm baffled, because that is the only solution I have found. I'm a Mac user, so there is not much more I can suggest, other than raise a ticket with Support.

Good luck.
