rwinking
I saw that the Stadium has a feature called NEXUX. The guy in the video said that one of the first updates on the Nexus feature will be making it compatible with Variax. I wonder if that means something for the Variax? silverhead
Using Variax with Stadium will require a separate hardware expansion device, the D10 I think it’s called. The Variax connects to the D10 using the familiar VDI input, and the D10 connects to Helix Stadium via the Nexus port. I don’t think it means anything new for Variax. My understanding is that this will be available at launch with no update required.
snitz51
Hopefully, it at least means a Win 11 driver update for Variax. It's so annoying not to be able to tweak things.
QuestforTone
Damn. I play 60% of my time live on JTV variaxes. First reason to 'maybe not update to Helix Stadium'? Although I was planning to do so....
silverhead
Extra hardware (the Expand D-10 unit) is required for Variax interaction with Stadium. The reasoning behind that seems clear. Variax users represent a very small percentage of Helix Stadium owners. As recently as the Helix product Variax support was included in the main hardware. This meant that all owners paid for a feature that was used by only a few. With Helix Stadium the cost of Variax support is paid only by Variax users. While that business decision may be disappointing to Variax users it may be welcomed by everyone else. The Stadium device costs less than it otherwise would. btw… the same applies to Powercab owners. L6 Link functionality also requires additional hardware.
