littlespaceman
Am I missing something here, but given the power of Showcase, and the fact that the Stadium has 'unlimited storage' (ie, you can keep getting bigger and bigger SD cards), I'm genuinely surprised to read in the manual that 1) your loops are stored in the internal memory, and therefore you have disappointingly low records times (only 60 seconds in stereo for a unit this powerful is really not that impressive to my mind) but also 2) you can't save loops? Is that right? If so I'm amazed a device with an SD slot can't use that SD card to, among other things, save your loops/ideas etc. Hopefully I've got this wrong, and you CAN save loops, but if not, has there been any suggestion of improving the Looper in the future to allow you to at least do this? silverhead
Yes, there’s at least one feature request for this (mine). Feel free to submit your own! Personally I think it’s just a matter of time because as you suggest it seems an obvious extension of current capability.
littlespaceman
Great, will do. I mean, the Headrush Core can do it, and I think ‘higher end’ units like the QC deliberately overlook this sort of feature at their cost (there seems to be a snobbery of sorts about feature requests for the QC to be able to do this, among the professional users who view saving loops or adding backing tracks as the sort of things that only amateurs and bedroom players would want to do)
nobod999
The SD card has a second partition named LOOPER and they announced that they plan to add features to the looper, so I guess we just have to be patient.
littlespaceman
I hope 'being patient' doesn't require as much patience with Line 6 as it does with Neural DSP!

Line 6's Eric (digital_igloo) made the announcement that it could be released early but that it would not be 100% where he wanted it to be and asked us all to be patient as the eventual ready for primetime features roll out. My take was that it may be a year for the full ready for primetime goal. Having said that ... Line 6 had been very responsive to firmware patches and enhanced features over the OG Helix's life. I have already seen a few feature requests added while they are still working on and slowly rolling out all the features they have envisioned for the Stadium family. And @silverhead has been making the point that the more people who request a specific feature (collectively) the sooner Line 6 usually investigates if it can be added during one of the stepwise rollouts they have already provided as well as upcoming future ones. Line 6 really does listen and will be responsive to collective squeaky wheel requests. At least that has been my experience for more than 10 to 15 years. jpd
littlespaceman
Thanks for the reply - have to admit that I've been hugely impressed with what L6 have done to keep the OG Helix evolving, and that certainly was a factor in my decision to move back across to the Helix universe. Conversely, even Quad Cortex fans can't deny that Neural are very very slow with updates, and when they come they sometimes do not include what people request the most (and remember the QC forum uses a transparent voting system for feature requests, so you can see how many votes a request has)
