alindenau
Hello, I keep running into a problem where, every now and then, the footswitches and their corresponding labels don’t load when I start up the board. Question: Is this a software issue or a hardware issue? The board is less than 8 months old, has always been kept in its case, has been carefully maintained, and has only been used at home and during occasional rehearsals so far. I never had problems like this with the Helix Floor XL. To be honest, for this hefty price tag, I actually expect something more reliable. This is starting to make me seriously doubt Line 6. silverhead
Does this happen with all presets or just specific one(s)? If the latter please attach one of the presets.
alindenau
doesn't matter which preset is active at startup so far. I usually turn on the device by flipping the switch on the multi-socket power strip. However, there are very good power strips at home and in the rehearsal room, and it happens in both places.
jiml6
I would open a support ticket. This definitely seems like a hardware issue, as FS6 and 12 seem to be out as well.
alindenau
Are there any other details—besides the description and the photo—that I should provide to customer support?
bearfacedcow
It’s definitely a software issue. I’ve had this happen to me when I’ve started the unit in Preset mode. It then comes back when I switch between one of the stomp modes and back. What mode is your unit booting with? jord
DaBluze1964
Hi I hope this helps. I had a similar thing happen and its a glitch. It happened after loading presets for me. What i did was if you go to global settings top left menu, tap switches and pedals. At the bottom the 4th icon from the left says” stomp A fs6 (model 1). Just rotate the knob to select any other switch setting and then rotate it back to where it was, and they all re-appeared for me. Give it a try it may work for you. It resolved the issue for me. ekronz
I don't know if this helps, but I had this happening to me yesterday and I came across your post here. After loading a bunch of IRs (over 100), it started behaving like this... I would turn the unit on, all the footswitches would be off and without anything written on them... I tried deleting some of the IRs and restarting the unit and it didn't work. I went into maintenance mode, formatted the SD Card (not sure it was necessary) and resetted everything back to factory default settings. When I turned the unit back on again, everything was working as intended... definetely some software bug in this case.

I’ve already opened a support ticket and sent them a backup file, but unfortunately, they just said, “We can’t reproduce the issue,” and told me to perform a factory reset to see if I can reproduce it that way. The problem is that I need the device regularly, and the error only occurs sporadically. So I don’t feel like doing their testing work for them, nor do I have the time.
