d1stewart
My JTV-89 (not an 89F, and not the American-made model) has very low output in modeling mode. Compared to the magnetic pickups it's roughly 60% of the output, I'd guess. And what a shock it can be going from model to mags—it's a huge difference. It starts out at a large deficit in Helix and other effects. Does anyone have any idea why this is so, and if it can be changed or fixed? hurghanico
I don't own a JTV but a Variax 700, which is from the previous generation. But I'm sure that for every Variax, it's possible to adjust the output volume of individual models and even individual strings via the workbench editor. Dark-Star
Cotton swab, alcohol, drip it onto the piezo/saddle, let it work its way in, then blow out with canned air. Repeat if needed. If it still persists, take it your nearest authorized service center and have them check further and deeper.
