Switching some pedals on and others off with one footswitch?

Hi,

I programmed a preset with various pedals and use 3 different types of sounds with it:

1 - a clean sound with no pedals

2 - a dirt sound by engaging 2 pedals

3 - a metal sound by disengaging the previous 2 pedals and engaging 2 others

I press on a footswitch for number 2, then I have to quickly press on it again to turn it off and press on another footswitch for number 3.  This is difficult because there's no time between sounds 2 and 3.

Is it possible to avoid that and when I press for sound 3 it engages pedals for number 3 and disengage pedals of number 2 at the same time?

Thank you for your help.

Cheers

try this workaround.

Assign all the pedals to the same FS.  The ones in step 2 should be ON and the ones in step 3 should be OFF.  Set all of these pedals outputs or mix to the same Exp pedal with minimum set to zero and max set to the level you want them to be.

Now you get:

1 - a clean sound with no pedals - Exp pedal heel down.

2 - a dirt sound by engaging 2 pedals - Exp pedal toe down.

3 - a metal sound by disengaging the previous 2 pedals and engaging 2 others - Exp pedal toe down, FS engaged.

@radatats Good idea! I tried it but there's a problem because if I set the screamer (number 2) ON and I set its output to 0 then there's no sound.

@TheRealZap I cannot because my HD500X is in F5-F8 mode.

I forgot about that...  try linking the output and the drive to the Exp pedal instead and experiment with the lowest settings to find where it really has no discernible effect on tone.  Same result, heel down, no FX, toe down FX on...

The FX with mix will work as described previously...

You can link up to 50 parameters to each exp pedal so don't worry about having too many things connected...

A no compromise approach would be to place the amp after the mixer and the first two fx in the top loop and the second two in the bottom loop and use the pedal to pan from one loop to the other. Start with pedal back, all fx off, then hit switch to engage first 2 fx, then pedal forward to access next 2 fx, which are already turned on, for metal sound.
