tormod1
No sound at all coming from any of my HD500-patches after installing latest Flash Memory. Everything worked fine until this, never had a problem before. Surely, I can't be the only one with this experience...? I was going to open a support ticket, but in order to do that i must register my POD (bought it used), and somehow the serialnumber I enter is not correct...? tormod1
I think I Tried, but to be sure, can you tell me in details what I should do...?
tormod1
Did it all. No sound. I was wandering about what you said with "...wait until the end of the flashing prosedure (a bit lenghty..)" It took me no time at all..?
BillBee
Be sure to double check your in/out settings - guitar - input 1 for ex. You may also try Flash from file. DL the flash memory to your desktop and try it from there via L6 Monkey. Was there an issue that prompted the initial flash? Were you able to use the usb before and was everything cool with Monkey prior? -B
tormod1
Input is as it should be. Never had any problems with USB, software or anything before the latest Flash update. Tried to rollback to the previous flash update (2.31), but still no sound. Then I installed the latest, again. During the install, which took 3-4 minutes, the screen on the 500 said "installing flash" (or something like that). I then get the "Flash Installed" Message. Still no sound. One thing I was wondering about: When I do a global reset, and power on the unit while holding down the left arrow, is something supposed to go on in the screen of the 500..? Nothing happens then, other than preset nr. 1A coming up..?
BillBee
Hmmm a reflash shouldn't be causing all that. Left arrow on power up does Global reset - right arrow for testing and calibration. <- which you have to do. http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/46908 http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd/video-tutorial-how-to-reset-the-pod-hd-series-r209 Those are some relevant links. Hang in there. -B
tormod1
Any ideas, anyone..? Kind of stuck here....
BillBee
Have you tried reflashing with a different USB cable? Sometimes that is the problem. If you have a spare pc I would try it on that as well. -B Edit: From what I searched out it does read like a bad flash which is the same as having corrupt software on a pc. Don't pay attention to the flash # its the steps that are important for a safe mode flash. 2 things to remember - power supply and usb cable. Both if faulty can cause issues too. These are things to try prior to putting a support ticket in. If any thing does not work like - the global reset, calibration be sure to list them with your system specs. --------------------------------------------- The complete thread is here: http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/77912 <quote> I would suggest that you update to the latest version of POD HD500 Edit 1.0.6 that is designed to work with the updated 1.40 flash memory update. It can be downloaded from the link below: POD HD500 Edit 1.0.6 Windows: http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=4373 After updating to the latest version of Edit, use it to back up your presets. After backing up your presets, power the POD off and disconnect it from the USB. Press and hold the down arrow key and power the POD back up to put it into safe mode, once the POD boots the display will read 'safe mode'. Reconnect the USB cable, launch the latest version of Monkey 1.43 and reinstall the latest 1.40 flash memory. After installing the flash memory, perform a global reset using the instructions at the link below: http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2222
tormod1
Opened a support ticket. Will be interesting to see what comes out of that.
BillBee
Sorry it had to come to that. Be sure to report back on what the eventual outcome is. -B
tormod1
Line6 ask me to contact the Scandinavian dealer (I'm Norwegian). Did that. No answer. They then sent the problem to Line6 UK. Been 6 days, no answer.
clay-man
Try different cables and different usb ports, different firmwares. Try all of those. I thought I almost bricked my POD and after restarting the computer and "fixing" the USB port it finally downloaded the firmware just fine. Also, do a safe mode start up by holding RIGHT button, and check your FLASH and see if it gives you a P for Pass.
idexo
mac? or PC? which program do you use? there is no sound with 1/4 outs too? or only usb? if only usb you could especially check your audio interface
tormod1
FINALLY! Sound! I had tried to rollback to the previous flash firmware without any luck, but the I tried to go further back, and that did the trick! So now I'm on the fifth to last update, and I'm staying there!!
