It's possible and works, but: The advantage of the NS-2 is it's loop that allows for signal detection with the clean guitar signal but gating after the overdrive/distortion inserted the loop (the amp's preamp in your case). Your proposition wouldn't use that advantage and you could skip using the NS-2 altogether and use a Helix Noise Gate block after the FX loop block instead.1 point
