I have a G90 and HD Pro X. There is no guitar in on the back of the Pro X, only on the front panel. The G90 only has guitar out in the back panel. Would you use one of the line in on the Pro X? If so L or R.

The beauty of the Dream rig especially the L2t is how it works with the JTV Acoustic patches. I have been chasing FRFR for 15 years the L2 makes it a reality. Start off as a minimalist. Select the JTV acoustic guitar you want I really like the acoustic - 5. Play it with out any other effects.....not bad huh..........Adjust the mixer I usually have mine about 6 db. First thing that I notice is the bottom end is real boomy. I added, Post effect, an eq effect and set the 75 hz filter to -6 db, my point the bottom end needs to be adjusted, use your ears. Everything else was flat. Play it again. This should really sound good. but dry. Take you pick of the many reverbs, I like a plate..........play and adjust the mix, on the verb, until you are happy. Now play it, it should be great. Notice if you play the guitar hard the sound doesn't distort. if You need it louder turn the amp up, (You have 400 watts) It is my observation that an over processed acoustic will distort when playing aggressive. Lastly, one of the most difficult things to do is balance a setlist, so that you can easily go between patches with ease. I always set my acoustics first then reference every other patch to the acoustic. Enjoy.

Hi All, I just upgraded from an HD500 to a HD Pro X. I immediately when to this site and downloaded the unsupported conversion utility. I must be brain dead. The only thing I could download was a HD500(x) to POD HD(desk top bean). The documentation says that it is for the entire HD family but I could only make it work for HD500 to POD HD. Anybody out there use the utility? Am I smoking a crack pipe? (maybe so hehehe) Cheers.........

Replacement Bodies
jcosta_sr replied to jcosta_sr's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I called up a well know luthier in the area, talked to him about it and then sent him the pics. He seems to think that we can fill the cracks with glue and "stabilize" the body so that the damage won't increase. Asthetically, we can fix anything if you throw enough money at it. -

Interestly, After a long cry, I picked it up and played it........The tuning was off a couple of cents on two strings. I checked to see if it responded to patch changes from my HD500, every thing checked out. I finished practice with the band, with a heavy heart. -

Here a group of pictures. -
Last night at practice I took my Variax off and hung it on the wall, on a guitar hanger. When I stepped away, I didn't realize that the cable had wrapped itself around my leg. As a result I pulled the guitar off the hanger and it came crashing down, on the stap nut. When I picked up the guitar, I couldn't believe the damage. Is this fixable? Does Line 6 sell replacement bodies. Anybody have an idea. Fellow Variax owners, I need help......

That's was my first guess so I purchased a new vdi. Still happening. I am starting to think the socket may need to be replaced. -

Is anyone having any issues with the JTV-69 and maintaining connection with VDI. What I mean is that there are times when it seems the VDI isn't connected all the way. I can play and you can hear the guitar. However, the JTV isn't getting the info on pitch or guitar. If i wiggle it I hear popping sounds and then everything is working correctly. I purchased a VDI and everything is tighter but it still happens. I wondering, should I take it to the shop and have the socket on the guitar replaced? Any thoughts

Amp models - any 'tonemeisters' out there want to help me?
jcosta_sr replied to Spiderplayer7's topic in POD HD
Just Startin', Your delima is not unique. For the better part of 2 years I have had the same problem until I purchased a L2t, but that is another story. There are a number of vid's that take you through the process of creating the tones of the stars. http://line6.com/support/forum-18/announcement-27-new-hd500x-tone-building-videos/ check it out. There are 4 or 5 vids that use different amps that take you through the process. They were very heplful to me. To your problem, I found that once I understood the difference between my home rig and gig/practice rigs sonically. I could then make the adjustments. For instance I would normally build a patch on my home system using studio of monitors. The play the patch a practice. I would notice a consistent difference. I always seemed to use too my drive on the amp and too much drive on my distortion pedal. Also, I always seemed to have to much mix on reverb. For the most part I found (1) that I would never gig a tone that I haven't auditioned at practice (2) patch creation is iterative. (3) Patch quality is relative, one person loves it another hates it. -
Best Live Amp For Jtv And Pod Hd 500?
jcosta_sr replied to xsession99's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
I have the JTV-69, HD500 and the L2t. The last piece of the puzzle was the L2t. You will not be be disappointed and never have lack of power. With great power comes great responsibility........ -
Would You Own More Than 1 Jtv?
jcosta_sr replied to pugdealer's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
I would have two JTVs - I have a 700 and a JTV-69. I have also played a 59. While they may have the same electronics/modeling, they play different!!! I don't get the same sustain on a 69 playing a Lester patch as I do on a 59. So for those songs that I want a humbucker patch I would use the 59, conversely I would use the 69 for single coil pickups. I think the specialty patches/accuoustics it wouldn't matter. -
Interesting stuff - I have the dreamrig so my amp is being serviced by Link 6. Should I use the XLRs to go to the mixing board? Since the output of the HD 500 is changing given the patch - Electric Guitar vs Accoustic patch, will that be an issue for the mixer?
-
I can honestly say I haven't done the comparisions. I mean I have the HD 500 which will switch the L2 to the appropriate configuration. I was so blown away by the quality of the sounds I just didn't feel the need to tinker around. All my tinkering is with patches. I have found that with the L2 and HD 500, I can get pretty close to what I am looking for with just the amp and reverb. Obviously, there a couple of fx but I almost never need an equalizer.

I would have to say that it produces "mic'd amp sound", very exactly. These are extremely loud studio monitors, optimised for the Line 6 enviroment and FRFR. I currently use the L2t as my "amp". I place it on its side in an amp stand. This setup replaced two amps. I had a Atomic Reactor 112-50w and a Roland Key board. I created patches that either panned left or right depending on which amp I wanted to use. The Atomic Reactor is a 1x12 with a tube power amp, that handled all the electric sounds. The Roland handled the accoustic sounds. This worked ok. But It was a lot of gear to haul to gigs with a large foot print on stage. Plus balaning the volume between the two amps and the POD HD 500 could be challenging. The L2 is very compact and light, Line 6 did a good job on engineering the ergonomics of it. There is a beefy handle that makes hauling it very easy. Also - the band I play in has QSC K-10s for the mains. On occaision I have used these as well. They are in the same ball park as the L2t/m as far as price. However, the L2 IMHO is far superior in sonic quality and obviously in ability to be integrated into Line 6 environment. Lastly - I would not consider using two L2s for stereo. It would be overkill. I am a Line 6 lover not hater, i really do believe in FRFR. I held out on the DT solution because it couldn't deal with the accoustic side. I play in a copy band that requires the whole gambit of sounds that only the L2 can solve. I agree that the L2 is pricey however it solves two problems, accoustic and electric sounds.

I have a POD HD 500, JTV-69 and L2t (same as a L2m but with a mixer). The L2 is phenomial. I have been chasing FRFR for the better part of 15 years and when I completed the Dream Rig with the L2t, I was in love. First of all, 800 very clean watts. The accoustic patches are so damn believable. Then if you switch to an electric guitar patch all of a sudden you are playing behind a marshal stack. The only down side I see to the L2t/m is cost. A little pricey.......

Which Amp To Add To Pod X3live And Jtv?
jcosta_sr replied to ezaz's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
Before I bought my L2t my main amp was an Atomic Reactor 112x50. Great amplification solution for Modelor preamps......The only problem, I had to add a keyboard amp for the accoustic amps and then create patches than panned to one amp or the other depending on the patch. I then purchased the L2. The rest is history........
