  1. HA! I just got one thats never been used on ebay for about half price. Time to pack the HD 500 away in its original box and introduce my JTV-59 to my Kemper. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship ( with a tip of the hat to Casablanca.) :D .
  2. As I said, batteries not an option. Found the cabled power kit I wanted. Moving on.
  3. Batteries are not an option. They fail over extended periods of time. Money is not an issue for me. A reliable power source over time is. Found one that never been used on ebay. That will solve my problem nicely.
  4. They are out of stock at EVERY vendor. Several Ive spoken to have no clue if they are getting any more. As I said, even tech support and the part department seemed surprised when I brought this to their attention. Maybe they switched Chinese manufacturers. That the only positive scenario I can think of.
  5. I decided to move on from the HD 500 to the Kemper Profiler. I own a JTV-59 and would prefer NOT to use batteries to power it. I did use the Variax cable in conjunction with the HD 500, but that will be going away. Ive searched high and low for the cabled power kit. Even called Line 6 tech support & parts. It seems like they just disappeared all of a sudden and no one knows if they are even being made anymore. Found used one online, but thats about it. Thats pretty scary for those of us that own the Tyler Variax that may decided to use other sound units.
  6. I am running 2.0 on a J-59 ( going thru the 500 with JUST a Marshall amp / speaker sim ) and playing back thru a FRFR QSC K-10. It sounds great. Granted any patches I have done for my Jackson Soloist SL1 USA need to be altered since they are different guitars and technology. My instinct tells me these are operator related issues.
  7. I agree. I have had wonderful experiences with all the Sweetwater purchases I have made over the years. Something seems a little hinkey with this story.
  8. Did you buy it new in a sealed box? Sounds like you might have gotten one that was returned by a previous owner.
  9. I use the 59 primary for recording in Logic. Its been a wonderful experience due to the fact the is no detectable latency when playing the guitar. That is a big plus!
  10. When I got the HD 500, immediately got the QSC K10 FRFR system to allow the true amp/cab modeling in the 500 to be heard the way it was meant to be. My Fender Twin colored and ruined those sounds. The K10 also works great with the Variax since no coloration is added to the guitar modeling either.
  11. Just got the Best-Tronic cable. Its all folks here say it is. :D
  12. Nope. One JTV-59 is just fine. My Jackson Soloist SL1 USA and Taylor 2014 810e complete a small collection that are really all I need. :D
  13. I just purchased the JTV-59 Sunburst. Have been playing on and off for 45 years. I am very impressed with this guitar. Action seems a little better then my 1972 Goldtop LP I owned when I went to Berklee College of Music. The only other one I currently own is a 2002 Jackson Soloist SL1 USA. I find the Variax playability runs a close second to it. And when considering the library of guitars sounds its has, it almost evens the score. No cosmetic issues, selection knobs work fine and the intonation is dead on. I have loved working with the power of the HD 500 with the Jackson. Looking forwrd to exploring the use of it with the Variax going forward. When not playing the guitar, I have been a professional video editor for the past 30 years. Heres some of my work. http://www.hdshotsan...ts/Welcome.html
  14. Wil these work with the JTV-59 I just got today? If so. I would like a 10' cable. What colors are available? I live in Vegas and do have a Paypal account. How do I order it? UPDATE> Nevermind. I just ordered the Best Tronics cable.
