  1. Helix V3.11 and Windows 11. Still there. Alway a popup message when I turn on Helix floor model. "USB device not recognized"
  2. So, Boys and Girls, Line 6 apparently has hacked the HX Edit software. The problem with not being able to drag and drop is still a problem but can be resolved. As I said previously 2.71 worked flawlessly and the problem for me didn't show up until 2.80 was released. Today, I drove to Guitar Center in Tempe, Az. Ben said he had a Helix with 2.81 firmware and that I could use it to test if my issue was the HELIX or Laptop. I tested 2.81 using both my laptops and had the same result, "Can't Drag and Drop". Ben took control and was also confused about why this wasn't working. I told him I had the mouse set up as a left handed mouse. While he was adjusting to the LH mouse the inadvertently selected both LEFT and RIGHT Mouse buttons at the same time and was able to Drag and Drop. Problem Solved? Not Really! Work Around? OKAY!. I don't know if this has anything to do with Win 10 LH Mouse Settings but 2.71 did not require Click and Hold ( Left and Right ) Mouse buttons to Drag and Drop did it? Am I the only Left Handed HX Edit user? Ha. Thanks to Ben at Guitar Center Tempe for helping figure out the issue. Okay Line 6 can you correct this so it works for Lefties too? All you need to do is make it work correctly when Right Mouse Click is set to PRIMARY. NOT JUST LEFT PRIMARY.. Check it out!
  3. I have the same problem with 2.80 and 2.82. Have you been able to resolve this problem? I still have not been able to resolve the issue. I'm stuck on 2.71.
  4. I think what I'll try after the new year is to isolate the problem either with the Computer or the Helix. If I can locate another Helix with 2.82 Firmware on it I can use my laptop to test. If I have the same issue then I need to try a third Laptop? Any other ideas?
  5. I gig weekly with my Helix, so it stresses me out to try different scenarios with Firmware updates. I do not want to break my Setlists or disable the Helix to the point where I can't perform with it.
  6. Something is going on, However, it seems Line 6 is not too interested in helping to resolve the problem.
  7. I reset the Helix twice then tried various configurations of USB and MIDI send/rec. CC's were also not working. I use USB to send PC and CC via laptop software. I found it strange that the HX Edit Software 2.82 had no problem changing Set Lists or Patches.. It's very strange that 2.71 works perfectly. So, if 2.71 works, seems like 2.8x should work just as well. something is definitely screwed. I think it's me.
  8. While I waited for the release of 2.80 I was hoping there would be something good I could use in the release. However, I did update to 2.80 and discovered the drag and drop in HX Edit no longer worked the way 2.71 did. I was not able to drag and drop or move positions of effects. I put in a ticket to Tech Support and was told that if I didn't like it I could return to 2.71. I did return to 2.71 and waited till recently to try 2.82 only to discover that the HXEdit 2.82 and the Helix 2.82 Firmware still did not fix the drag and drop issue I have. Not only did the Drag and Drop issue not get resolved, the Helix Quit responding to SysEx Progam Change MIDI commands. I would put in another ticked but it appears to me that Tech Support is more interested in closing tickets than resolving problems or reporting them to Engineering. I thought I'd post here to possibly shame Tech Support and Engineering in to taking this seriously! I have two different machines that Run Win 10, an Hp Spectre and a MS Surface Pro. Both have the same issue. I don't see any other complaints about this problem listed by other users so Really it's an isolated problem? I returned to 2.71 again and it works perfectly. I can't see how no-one else has this problem. Am I the only one using it this way? Naw! So here's a recap; Issue # 1 Can't drag/move effects and HX Edit 2.8x using mouse (Click/Hold/Drag) to move Effects positions. Now it seems the new version just allows Copy and Paste to to the same thing. I can move positions using the Helix display with no problem Issue #2 Can't Move or Copy and Paste Splits using HX Edit. Now it seem we have to delete the split and create a new one in a different position to accomplish this. I can move splits using the Helix display just fine. Issue #3 2.82 Helix Firmware quit responding to Program Change commands on ANY channel. I could see they were being sent thru a MIDI debugger. I reverted back to 2.71 and everything works fine. EXCEPT, I don't have the opportunity to use new features (Amps/Effects) in 2.82. I'm not happy that I am stuck with 2.71! Please work on resolving these issues for me! Like I said the last time I put in a ticket for this issue the Tech Closed the Ticket after sending me back to 2.71. If there's anyone else having this issue please chime in! Thanks!
  9. Musicians Friend has moved the ship date for Helix now to Feb 4, 2016. Has anyone received a New Unit with the latest Firmware or did you guys have to update your units when you received them?
  10. Sweetwater must have more clout than GC. I ordered from GC on 11-11-2015. they have not notified me per FTC requirements when to expect delivery. My silence is due to lack of communication from GC. https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/selling-internet-prompt-delivery-rules Complying With The RuleBy law, you must have a reasonable basis for stating that a product can be shipped within a certain time. If your advertising doesn't clearly and prominently state the shipment period, you must have a reasonable basis for believing that you can ship within 30 days. If you can't ship within the promised time (or within 30 days if you made no promise), you must notify the customer of the delay, provide a revised shipment date and explain his right to cancel and get a full and prompt refund. For definite delays of up to 30 days, you may treat the customer's silence as agreeing to the delay. But for longer or indefinite delays - and second and subsequent delays - you must get the customer's written, electronic or verbal consent to the delay. If the customer doesn't give you his okay, you must promptly refund all the money the customer paid you without being asked by the customer.
  11. After reading about all the bugs and problems with software and possibly hardware I don't think I want to spend my next three months debugging Helix for Line 6. My background is performing electronic reliability tests and design verification testing. Apparently Line 6 / Yamaha or whomever is responsible for validating this design did not do a very good job. As I said earlier, I'm willing to bet they've uncovered a serious flaw and are scrambling to resolve it before delivering the next production run. I am available for hire if you guys need help improving your quality rather than letting your customers do it for you. On the other hand, maybe not because I would have never authorized it's release, How long is Musicians Friend's return policy?
  12. Who is spending money? The product is not available. It could be the greatest guitar modeler ever made... Who knows? Just empty promises. Losing credibility in my book. Unfortunately I believed L6 and I sold my previous gear with expectation of delivery before Thanksgiving. Now L6 is wasting my time since I had planned on using this gear to work on a new project. Thanks L6.
  13. I have also been told a the same BS from GC. I ordered on 11/11 and I've been delayed until 1/2016. Maybe I'll see it, maybe not. I was told they've not received any shipments from L6 at all. since JS has a tracking number indicates they lie. As far as the number of production units may have been a surprise to L6, there could be other issues besides QC issues. I've been in electronic manufacturing for 35 years and many times engineering designs around a part that has gone EOL. Which means they are no longer available, or there is a limited supply available. Since development of Helix has taken 6 years, this is a likely scenario. Since we're speculating and L6 is not commenting, I'm just putting it out there. If this is the case, Engineering is scrambling to find a replacement part, Software has to rewrite code for the new part and QA has to re-qualify the product. I'm surprised that L6 has not chimed in here and offer some sort of reassurance that we are going to receive a product that meets the original design spec. I'm also betting there are software/hardware bugs that may be preventing the product from shipping and performing as expected which is causing delays while they scramble to fix. C-mon L6, What's the problem? Should I spend my money somewhere else?
