  1. I guess I didn't realize that a mic would pick up frequencies so far outside the spectrum of what should be there, especially in the high end. So these cuts might be necessary by FOH in a mic'd amp situation to get the guitar tone not sounding harsh? Thanks!
  2. I'm sorry if this is covered somewhere in another thread. I couldn't find anything. I see that high and low cuts are highly recommended to the point that they basically seem necessary for the best tone. The reason seems to be that our tube amps and guitar speakers don't normally produce those frequencies. My questions: 1. why the modeler is producing these frequencies if the amps and cabs don't normally produce these? 2. Do other high end modellers have the same "problems"? 3. Can we trust the modeler if it can't get something loke this more correct? Thanks!

    Tuner

I've had my Korg DT-10 tuner for almost 10 years now and just recently I bought a new polytune because the korg and the helix don't agree on what in-tune is. And I figured there was no way the helix was wrong. Well my polytune just arrived today and now it doesn't agree with my helix. It's showing well more than a 3 cent difference on some strings (like low E). How can this be? Which one is wrong? Also - I don't find the helix tuner jumpy at all. I just want to be in tune. THe korg dt-10 and polytune agree. The helix is reporting flat.
  4. With 2.20 firmware, I'm experiencing popping/cracking with the vintage delay. No other effects needed. Just hit the strings hard and nasty pops/cracks. Turn vintage delay off, hit the strings hard as you want, no problems.
  5. anybody experiencing pops and clicks with the vintage delay with firmware 2.20?
  6. None of the pins appear to be bent. Is this something that would be covered by a warranty?
  7. The right XLR out on my helix won't "click" in. The left one is fine. I don't want to force it. Is this something to worry about?
  8. I want to love the helix, but I'm having a hard time getting it to sound good in the room. I have recorded some with it and have got some good sounds (https://soundcloud.com/ryantolson/i-surrender?in=ryantolson/sets/helix). But in the room, I can't seem to jive with it. I've tried headphones (ATH M40X) and powered monitors (JBL LSR 305). I know these aren't high end monitors and headphones. But do I need high end to sound good. Any advice? Thanks
  9. Thanks to a tip above - I tried plugging it into a keyboard and then running the keyboard into my macbook pro and that works! I hope they solve this problem soon as it will be a pain to have to use the keyboard in between the helix and the laptop.
  10. I don't think that my MacBook Pro is trying to sleep. The helix app will only be up for a few seconds, if it works at all. Basically I have no way to backup my presets or put IRs on the Helix at this point.
  11. So am I out of luck in terms of backing up my presets and adding IRs until line 6 or apple fixes the issues? Can line 6 chime in? Thanks!
  12. I just upgraded to the latest El Cap (10.11.2 (15C50)), still seeing the problem. I've tried 2 different USB ports on my laptop and 2 different USB cables. Nothing works. I'm not going through any hubs, direct from Helix to Mac book pro.
  13. I'm running the latest version of firmware (1.043) and the latest Helix App (1.02). I'm running Mac OS X 10.11.1. The Helix app will run for a few seconds and then all of a sudden say "No Device Connected". The only way to fix it is to reboot the helix and restart the Helix app. Any suggestions?
