Found a new bug on hd edit yesterday, check it out guys, pretty easy to test, it takes 10secs: Abcd configuration, create a new patch lets say on c, full solo100 clean( must be full), no changes, send selected to pod. Create a new one on b, full jazz rivet, no changes, send selected to pod. Now when you push c on pod you will come back to full solo 100 BUT the four dials of amp parameters except master are zeroed, if you push c again, they move!!! It is not a big big deal, but if you are adjusting your patch precisely you will waste time. Or you need to push twice as a bad habit to have original values every time you change patches. Can anyone confirm? Last firmware here Thanks for your time

if you create patches very often, and compare between two, ABing. you will see a problem like a BUFFER, you need to reset the unit or (I recently discover, change to other patches using up and down buttons) when adjusting patches, some percentages disappeared when dialing buttons.

Hello all, I have the last version of the software I have some questions: 1) Is there any reason to see some amps with default value for master volume =100%? when I put line6 doom for example, it does not sound good. Moreover, the default values are suggestions from Line6 to users? If so, some dont seem right..... 2) I ve seen some original patches from Line6 that the amplifier is after the mixer in the chain. I d like to know why and when used it. 3) In pod edit, when I see input guitar+aux+varx), if you have only a guitar, surely you d use guitar. If you have variax (which I dont have it) I think you will use it as variax or variax mags. So, why guitar+aux+varx)? why this is the default? thanks a lot!

Will line6 still release patches and correct current bugs?

I was wondering, the difference between pre amp no cab AND full amp no cab, would be a power amp in full amp no cab? In theory, because we need the power amp of a real amp...right?

So it is impossible to put two patches at the same volume as per your message. What if I put my iPhones app db meter in front of the sound? It has been working for me!

Is the reason to have 4 amps in one patch instead 2 patches with 2amps is the time to switch between them?

Ideal world for me: Line6 launches jcm800 amp simulation in helix, theres a defect, instead of replacing it, just add, keep the old one (because people have tones created on it). So in practice v1 and v2. Of course L6 wouldn't care if users lost their tones but would that hurt?no. There is also marketing involved, if it takes 29 versions to get it done. Lol. Ok end of story. thank you guys

I'm not talking about perception. But about the new way how companies deliver their products nowadays. I think most companies deliver unfinished products or not well tested products. They wait for customers' feedback to make corrections.It is not only L6. Of course this should be acceptable but in what level? I'd accept minors corrections, not major. Soundwise we expect final version from day 1, the core must not change after. Who guarantees that?

This is a new digital era mind. I'm sure companies could keep consistency if they wanted to. Btw I bet my boss pedal ds-1 is still sounding the same!

I don't really agree the word changing to new algorithms would be awesome. I'd prefer adding (keeping the old ones) better. Maybe that happened with Marshall in hd? Who knows? In that case I would definitely buy one.

Good point, I was imagining this: I buy helix, create the best tone I have heard in my life and being stable, I ignore all new firmware releases. After 3 years, tone adjustments during this time, as you said, L6 launches new and free packs that an upgrade is required. Are we sure the tone will be the same after upgrade? I'm not. What would you say?

Thanks for your time Phil. But if they correct anything soundwise like fx or amps, it d change it. I should look for changes log if there is one. With all these new technologies, we are never sure if they will sound the same. I'd like to hear opinions from the people who bought podhd on release date. Or Any of you buying helix now bought podhd on release date as well?

I agree with you jandrio and cruisinion A simple test would be recorded dry signal, to pod v1 and to pod v2.6x compare. They should sound the same, no global eq or dep parameters. Right?

The first time I plugged my guitar in pod hd, the hard gate was useless. I was wondering who would use it. Finally I find out the firmware was out to date. Very old firmware. I updated it and everything was fine. Almost, new bugs and new releases. My question is if I create all patches on day 1. Will they sound the same after 3years ? If not, this one reason not to buy it on release date. Has anyone made this test to prove it yet? I've seen people complaining without real proof. Something to the mythbusters! Although it might be a myth. I'm always updating pods firmware. AND hope they release a final version with no bugs SOON.

Good point, marketing you think? The past is the past, if it is bad or not just say non-hd, non-hx. But people would benefit having more. Or maybe those were based on the ones that are in hd with some eq'ing etc
