  1. Or AIR convolution from line6 is specifically for FRFR never for guitar amps, different from IRs in some pedals for guitar amps. I don't really know, just asking.
  2. Hope I did not sound disrespectful, maybe he has written this from the manual
  3. Joel, What I did: 1 - put the configuration I like using JC120 model. 2 - try to sound the same as jc120 with blackface double adding/subtracting anything else. 3 - try to compare them in different days and on high volume. AB'ing. No headphones. Same guitar, pod output configurations etc. I will share with people willing to share their achievements. For improvements not for a laugh. I'm sure I'm not the only one doing that.
  4. Is that your opinion ? I don't really agree. Anyway, Thanks a lot guys
  5. I d like to see where/what is the source of this info. Thanks in advance
  6. http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/setup#outputChart
  7. Hi friends As per reading meambobbo s guide : Studio direct mode : IRs vs Other modes: eq (voiced cabs) Where is the information from? How can I obtain this info? In a documentation? Thank you
  8. As far as I know, I have been treating people with respect, have you? Funny how people treat someone unknown here. I'm not attacking anyone, but there are many as*kissers, fanboys that jump for defending any possible attack. If something is unclear, ask for clarification, don't assume by yourself. For some people it hard to understand, I know...musicians Moreover fallacies all around. Big waste of time...
  9. Man, I should have posted at thegearpage... Or I would ask meambobbo directly how he got to know the IR's is used in direct mode....
  10. I'm not asking to see the source code. Knowing that IRs are used in direct pa mode and eq voiced cab for others, isn't it a kind of revealing part of the secret sauce? If you don't know the answer, just let who know answer. I' m nuts, whatever, some people just post for attacking or for increasing the nb of posts I believe.
  11. Yeah, I see your point. I saw a video about Jim Marshall saying that he put anything that was around and easy on his amps in old days, people were cheated, it came out from his Mouth when he was drunk to a known guitarist, if I'm not mistaken.
  12. I won't be surprised If someone from line6 says that line6 used to do that on previous non-HD series... Anyway, I wish I could know those internal differences, as for now nobody seem to know.
  13. The amps are different to each other, however the configuration that I prefer can be replicated with other existing amp. You will say: you answered your own question, yes and no, it is just an example. Let me re ask the question: how do we know what is internally? If I have an amp modelling pedal, how do we know if it is IRs or IRs+eq or EQs mimicking post amps? I know that direct mode in pod uses IRs because I read all over the place, but how those who have written know? Does it come from the manufacturer only? Arislaf: you are right, saving time and resources.
  14. Guys I'm not saying that I was cheated, if I accomplish making one amp based on the old one, if it is the only I wanted it I would return. In this case from all the amps I just came close to one, as above mentioned, even not 100% sure. BUT let's say I have time and patience, I try to do for all amps and end up successfully. Then I would feel cheated. Or someone claim to have achieved and sell the setlist. Isn't worth asking ? I see some angry people, it is just a question. A thought. I saw one post in the past that one guy said why buy the bundle if you can replicate them. Back to the original question, I think the only way to know if my company cheated is seeing the source code, or codes and compare, since you can copy paste anything in computers. But I'd to know another way, from music perspective. By the same token, One subject that came to my mind is: Studio direct mode : IRs vs Other modes: eq (voiced cabs) How do people know this? Line 6 mentioned or there is a way/ method (as myquestion) that I do not know?
  15. Hi friends Let s say I am a mean person, small company, selling my pedals, so, I have, for example, 6 amp models developed. Main ones: clean, high gain, crunch, vintage, Brit, American etc. So, people buy it. They are happy. My engineer who developed the amp model left the company, I only have his assistant now. No money and need quick action. Now the market is demanding for new amps, competition is ahead. So, I decide to sell a bundle with new amps, BUT I will cheat, going for a easy way: get for example the old clean (black face double) change the default settings, make some light changes and label it is a new model (jazz chorus120). Is there any way to the customers know that I cheated? Am I able to achieve all new amp models using old models as a base with eq's and etc? I'm trying to see value on JC 120 that I just bought and I could replicate it using blackface double.... I need to record and analyze the spectrum to be sure but I can't hear any difference between them at all so far..... As long it is digital I think it is possible Give me your thoughts
  16. How does it affect? A lot, a bit? What I find terrible it is the noise from the pedal, if you use boss ds-1, you need to use a good noise suppressor , my ns2 and pod's don't help. Maybe decimator?
  17. New patch, you change it, send to pod and compare with other patches, come back to the changed one it loads the unchanged. It seems the second, thirdtime you send to pod does not take effect (kinda buffer) but if u reboot the unit it loads the saved one.
  18. Maybe this is already known or some posted, let me know I'm creating a patch with pod edit, pod hd500 firmware 2.62, ab'ing two patches for comparison and sometimes the sound is too different when I go back and forth between them. And the patches are sent to pod. I noticed and I disconnect the USB and reboot pod and the original sound from the patch come back again, ie, some kinda bug. maybe we should tweak from the pod directly not with pod edit, because the patches I'm on are high gain and noticeable, otherwise I won't notice it. I always use hd edit only for edition but it seems not reliable....any other user experiencing that?
  19. Many thanks for those who answered my questions. Here is the solution: have all software in monkey updated. Between the time I updated the firmware and bought the packs, they released some minor updates, I updated, all went fine. As therealzap said you need to authorize computer and pod. You will see the packs in addon section. Thanks friends!
  20. Good ed/Charlie When I log on it, it doesn't show the pack/bundle in add-on part. Is it something that I should download then enable it or just enabled it? I mean maybe the pack is in podhd but disabled by default.. Thanks for your help
  21. Hello friends I ve purchase it but I dont see any email from line6 as it says after buying. I sent an email to them, no response yet. Checked the credit card, the payment was done. What is the next steps? download? what would be in the email?
  22. Yes I noticed this problem today, I installed everything from scratch. Annoying
  23. Some people will find easier to tweak Kemper or AXE FX because they already know things they had to learn when they were tweaking POD. Because it is expensive, fashion and new, it is better. Really? With so many new options and things to learn, are you sure it will be easier? People complain if a pedal has no option for BIAS, etc. The same people complain that a pedal is too complicated because it has too many parameters to set. Line 6 should lauch a POD HD1 = 1 knob only pedal (for master volume) for those who cant tweak.
  24. did you put any effect on the first block? any effect? if so, which one?
  25. is there any information available to know which brand or type of guitar line 6 used to build a tone? Id say original Fender strats mostly (with single coil pickups), but it doesnt make too much sense to me, for high gain amps like ENGL, Boogie, (at least Fender strat with humbuckers)
