  1. My second question for the day! Here’s my setup: Hx Stomp + Fs3x external footswitch. Stomp 1 bypasses a drive pedal Stomp 2 bypasses a tremolo Stomp 3 bypasses a Rotary Stomp 4 tap/tuner Stomp 5 stomp mode scroll i like to improvise on the fly between modulations and drive... but sometimes I want the delay/reverb levels to increase. So if I have a dry sound on snapshot one and a wet sound on snapshot 2.... I want the drive/modulation I have engaged on snapshot 1 to remain intact on snapshot 2.... but have the delay/reverbs change. Sometimes I have the tremelo on and want it to carry over. Sometimes I have the rotary on and want it to stay on. Sometimes a combination of either modulation and the drive. I’m maxed out on blocks. Is there a workaround here? I suppose an external expression pedal could be added, but if possible I don’t want to ad another piece of kit if I don’t have to. if I could use the 3rd switch on the fs3x that would be great.... but not possible I guess. Suggestions? Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  2. Aha! Brilliant... thanks! Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  3. Hi all, Sorry if this has been asked before. I’m using the Elephant Man delay. I have a few snapshots saved where the delay speed, mix, and decay settings change. There’s an audible (momentary) pitch shift when toggling between snapshots. Down when the delay speed goes slower... up when the delay speed increases. I get this is exactly what you expect when using the real pedal.... turning the speed up or down while signal is passing through... but I don’t want that! Doesn’t seem to matter whether I have the trails on or off. Is this just the way it is? Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  4. Mine just froze a minute ago. Maybe second or third time happening. Doing some tweaking of amp settings on the pedal. No knob or button was responding. Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  5. I’ve used just the “Kinky Boost” for that type of sound on an amp set a bit dirty...as well as the Valve Driver set low.. which is modeled after the Chandler Tube driver. It’s kind of that Eric Johnson smooth tone. Pretty tweakable too. Sean Meredith -Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  6. I’ll buy that. I did not read the manual all the way through prior to buying.... so sure, that’s my error. My grade 7 science instructors words are now more resonant than ever before... “When all else fails... READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!” ... genius. Re... the Timeline vs Hx stomp. The Timeline is what... at least 8 years old now? And the Hx Stomp uses the same DSP chip? Is the price of that same chip the same now as it was 8 years ago? How much extra could it be to have a faster chip in there? Perhaps there’s a good explanation. Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  7. I came across this phenomenon with the stomp and posted as much in another thread. Using two amps/cab blocks split left and right chews up a lot of Dsp so I was limited in what I could put before them despite having 4 available blocks left. Im not overly concerned about it... but... I expected (before buying) that if the stomp limits me to six blocks... I could use all six blocks in whatever combination. I’m not sure I ever read anything to suggest that dsp horsepower would ever be an issue before purchasing the stomp. In such cases, it might only be 5 blocks or less. Again, I can deal with it... but would have been nice to know beforehand. Perhaps that’s my bad... I bought it around Christmas and it hadn’t been out that long. 8. Thanks for the responses. I will futz around a/b’ing Dual cabs vs separate cabs. I’m trying to keep things simple/small with the Stomp so I’m able to get what I need generally on gigs where I can’t use an amp and need a small footprint. I show up with a guitar and a Mono tick bag! It it wasn’t until yesterday I started wondering if I could make a true stereo rig inside the stomp... but discovered not w/o giving some blocks up.... not even so much that but it won’t let me access various fx even if there’s an open block or two. Perhaps at some point I’ll integrate the stomp into my board but currently there’s no room on it....:( Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  9. Thanks... you mentioned two separates cabs... I’ve been using a dual cab on one block... is there any real difference in putting 2 cabs on two separate blocks? Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  10. Hi All, I’m trying to create more or less the type of setup I’ve used live for the past few years. Pedalboard with mono drives feeding an H9 for modulation. The H9 goes stereo out into a Timeline, stereo out into another H9 and then stereo out into a Strymon Flint. The Flint then goes stereo out into 2 different combos. That way, I have mono drives and stereo reverbs, delays and modulation feeding two different (brands of) combos Is there a way to recreate this type of path in the Stomp on its own? I’ve tried setting up two amps and splitting the paths, but then I’m limited in terms of how many fx/drives I can put before them. I guess that’s the limitation of this box? Up until now, I’ve just used a one amp two cab setup and put drives/modulations before the amp and delays/reverbs after. Is that essentially the same thing as my regular setup? Thanks! 11. 1) Tap/Tuner Access in Snapshot view. A double click or click and hold assigned to one of the buttons would do it 2) an output vu metre page 3) a delay/reverb block... 2 in one. The H9 has this... works great. Even the Strymon El Cap has reverb too. Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.con
  12. This is something I actually find problematic w/the Stomp... not knowing how much signal you’re sending to foh. An onboard output vu metre would be useful. Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  13. Thanks for the info.... agreed about not plugging anything else into it. Daisy chaining digital pedals has always proven to be problematic for me anyway... usually a high pitched squeal from somewhere is the end result. Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  14. I’d like to know if a one spot would work w/the Hx Stomp. The L6 adaptor is a pain. Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  15. Agree with tuner being available in preset or snapshot mode. An update so that a double tap on one of the switches would activate the tuner would be nice. Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  16. Ok... I had to reboot the computer.... restart didn’t do it, now it works! Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  17. Hi all, Trying to update the HX Stomp. I registered it online (not sure if that has any bearing on updating it), I downloaded the Line 6 updater.... plugged the Hx Stomp into the computer... but the updater is not seeing it. Any suggestions? Sean Meredith-Jones www.seanmeredithjones.com
  18. Thanks for all the replies. I suspected I would need an external controller. I actually have an old Digitech Fs3x. Stomp is not as live friendly as I'd hoped on its own... was hoping to fit it in my gig bag and go. Between pedal, cables, power, supply, xtension cord because the ps is quite short + iPad... it really needs a secondary case or even it's own pedalboard if I need more switching. I already have a pretty slick board w/onboard cab sim which I'll stick with... just requires a bigger case. The stomp will stay on my desk at home for practice and direct recording. I'm ok w/that! 19. Hi all, Forgive the newb question here. If I'm playing a gig, sometimes I want the foot switches to change presets 36a 36b 36c etc. Sometimes I want them to turn blocks on and off inside the presets. I get how to program the foot switch block bypasses. I get how to change the view so that I can change presets on the fly. What I can't do is toggle between presets and be able to bypass blocks at the same time without bending down and doing it by hand. Do I need an external footswitch for this? Thanks in advance!
