  1. Do you have a router near your PGW that might be interrupting the signal?
  2. Whats the advantage of the DBRs as these are way more expensive than the Headrush FRFR powered speakers? The Laney FR112 is a great option too as it includes cab monitoring and is a cheaper option than the Line 6 Power Cab.
  3. I recently asked Line 6 for instructions to help folk fix frozen Pod Go units. Hope this is helpful. From: Customer Service <support@line6.com> Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2022, 10:26 Hello voxman55. Your Line 6 Support Ticket was updated with the following message: Hi, in case of an update failure: 1. reinstall the latest version of POD Go Edit and Line 6 Updater: https://line6.com/software/ 2. boot the unit into "Update Mode": press and hold PAGE > (page right) and then power on POD Go. 3. reconnect the POD Go via USB to the computer. Use another USB cable and try different USB ports, don't connect to an USB hub. 4. shut down all Line 6 software including POD Go Edit, or any programs that use audio, like DAWs, iTunes, Spotify, video games, etc. 5. launch Line 6 Updater only and select "POD Go Unknown version", then (re-)install the latest firmware. 6. perform a factory reset on the POD Go (will delete all user patches, IRs, globals): while holding footswitches C+ D turn on POD Go. Wait for "Will reset Globals and restore stock Presets..." to appear and let go. 7. if this should fail, the same procedure should be tried again offline. For this you have to download the latest POD Go flash memory file, then launch Line 6 Updater, choose "Offline Mode", then choose the downloaded flash memory file for the update. 8. if it still fails, it needs to be tested with another computer. You can update directly from any version to the latest firmware version. In rare cases a gradual update via previous versions may help but normally that's not necessary. If none of the above should help, the unit should be checked by a service center. But please note that normally, even when an update attempt fails, the unit can returned to operational state with the above procedure. Best regards Line 6 / Ampeg Support Europe - Line 6 Customer Service
  4. Hi, I'm afraid it's not the pots but just the way Pod Go works. It's annoying but perhaps it's a software thing that Line 6 can fix.
  5. Ideally you should be looking at studio monitor headphones for Pod Go, rather than HiFi headphones, because of the different frequency ranges - Studio Monitor headphones are kind of the equivalent of FRFR. The two most popular and highly regarded headphones for Pod Go at a reasonable price point (circa £125) are the Audio Technica ATH m50x (that come with 3 interchangeable cables - these are the headphones I have) and the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro (80 Ohms). But be careful about the impedance - although high impedance headphones might give some audio quality enhancement (law of depreciating returns applies though), they can also drop volume levels considerably. It's also a somewhat misleading indicator as it very much depends on headphone design. The m50x are 35 Ohms but are actually one of the most highly regarded by studio engineers. Whilst for equivalent quality, the DT770 Pro 80 Ohm are the ones to go for rather than the 32 Ohm version. You might find the following article & comparison helpful: https://www.headphonezone.in/blogs/buying-guide/comparison-beyerdynamic-dt-770-pro-audio-technica-ath-m50x
  6. The witch does indeed engage when I press the switch, not when I release it !

    Unlock POD Go

You are referring to JSON script re-writes in a patch file. This isn't a firmware hack so should have no risk to Pod Go other than some work better than others and some might give odd behaviours but only in that patch. Line 6 are fully aware of these patch 're-writes' and have issued no warning not to use these. Whether Line 6 'blocks' this in v1.40 we'll have to wait & see. Line 6 are fully aware that more & more users are requesting 2 extra patches but they are extremely reluctant to do this because it increases the amount of 'grey outs' users will see, and it has a very fixed view of what it wants Pod Go to do and not do. Although Line 6 say the place to show support for this is in Ideascale, there are so few Pod Go customers who appear to know about Ideascale this seems a very ineffective approach so I'm not really sure how we can best demonstrate the very strong customer support for this. There are quite a number of posts on here about this from various folk including myself, so there is clearly a desire for this enhancement but unfortunately Line 6 doesn't generally go by posts on forums. When posting you need to do so in normal text - for some odd reason your post appears as a scroll line which is difficult to read & is likely to be missed, as I nearly did. Please could you therefore go back in to your post and change this so folk can read this more easily. .
  8. Are you using a stereo TRS 'Y' cable? (single end is stereo TRS, the 2 'Y' ends are mono - they'll have different colours as per my pic).
  9. And if you are using an EQ, try placing it at the end of the signal chain or between the amp/cab rather than before the amp.
  10. It needs to be a momentary non-latching footswitch - sounds like you might possibly be using a latching footswitch. I use 2x Bespeco VM20 (momentary, non-latching) footswitches with a stereo Y TRS cable (stereo TRS at single end and mono at the two Y ends):
  11. Bit of a shame if the third switch is just duplicating the mode switch. I was hoping it might give some additional functionality. Ah well. Does your switch have LEDs?
  12. A reset solved the issue when that happened to me. But an upgrade to v1.30 should remedy it anyway.
  13. That's really interesting! Clearly an unexpected benefit of v1.30. And no, that won't harm Pod Go as it's simply a switch. Out of interest exactly which make and model of footswitch are you using?
  14. Catalyst is aimed squarely at Katana but with Line 6's own take. I think Catalyst is aimed at those who want to get back to a very simple 2-channel plug n play amp with a simple choice of amp models that will cover pretty much any genre, with a few nice reverb options and the ability to add one more effect for 'colouring' (what Line 6 refer to as 'a bit more'). There is an interesting vid here comparing Katana to Catalyst:
  15. My best understanding is that these are new Line 6 amp models specially for Catalyst and are not directly taken from Helix

    Allure IRs

Yes. Presumably you're using Pod Go Edit. Check you have these as .WAV files and that you are importing them into the IR section of Pod Go. They have to go in here first before you can then select them in a patch.
  17. Hopefully this is something Line 6 might be able to address in Pod Go firmware v1.40, that is currently in development.
  18. The ability to globally click on a wah in any patch was a big plus point in my decision to buy a Pod Go. It was a feature I really missed in my AD120VTX amp and Tonelab SE and LE but that I had years ago in my Line 6 Flextone II Plus rig. And it's a feature that I believe is a USP of Line 6. Certainly, I've not seen it on any other non-Line 6 MFX such as the Zoom G3/5/6/11, Boss GT series, Mooer GE series, Ampero, Headrush etc.

    Future POD?

Agreed. Sorry to have been pedantic, it was just the phrasing. Lol.

    Future POD?

Sorry, but no you can't. It's only provided you have sufficient DSP for them as its UP TO 4 user blocks. If you choose heavy DSP models such as a jumped amp and spring reverb, thats around 75% of your DSP gone ...add a vintage tube delay and that's all your DSP gone after just 2 user blocks! If you wanted to add a phaser or chorus, you've had it. You'd have to choose a lower DSP amp and/or reverb to release some DSP.
  21. @marvinthemartianSince v1.30 you can now set FS7/8 to scroll up/down.
  22. Bit unfair to say the usb cable is pure crap. Its a standard cable that works fine for the vast majority of users. Its only a small minority of users that are experiencing difficulties that are to do with signal strength, and that depends on the computer. But if a replacement higher quality usb cable fixes it, that's great.
  23. Problem is...how do we convince Line 6?? The posts on forums and FB pages and Ideascale are a drop in the ocean as compared to the numbers of Pod Go customers.
  24. It's not a hack, just a script change. But I agree and have been trying to campaign for two additional blocks but Line 6 is very reluctant to consider this. Tons of stuff on this, look for my Ideascale post.
