  1. Not sure if this is your issue, but I was on a very small stage once where I had to stand right next to one of the main speakers. I was probably only 3 feet away, but I was behind it. As soon as I stood next to the main speaker, the loud mic type feedback was there. If I moved away a couple more feet, it was gone completely.
  2. I just played a short set last night with a band that needed a guitarist to fill in. There was another band after us, so the stage was full of amps. We played first, and I was using my new Helix LT. The songs we played simply needed a little crunch, and I played solos using the neck pickup on my strat. After the show, a guy came up and complimented me on my tone. He was very generous with his words. :) He asked if I was using the Fender Twin on stage At first, I was going to give in and tell him about the Helix, but I asked him to keep guessing. He finally ran out of amps he saw on stage, and I told him I ran XLR mono out of the Helix LT into the PA. He was amazed. Anyhow, I just wanted to share my short story of more validation that the Helix is convincing. I'm glad too. I've been using the Helix Rack for about 6 months and didn't want to lug it to the show. So I picked up a new Helix LT the day of the show, transferred over a few patches from the Helix Rack, and I was ready to go. Nice job Line 6...
  3. Using Helix Rack 2.01 and foot controller with Helix Editor. I configure my patches with snapshots all the time. And I edit them exclusively with the Helix editor software in Windows 10. Over time, the Helix editor no longer updates the snapshot number and name in the top left corner when I change the snapshot from the foot controller. The snapshots seems to be in sync between the foot controller and the editor as I see block settings change when I select different snapshots from the foot controller. If I press on the foot controller snapshot button several times in a row, sometimes the snapshot number and name in the editor will finally update. But after a while, this doesn't work either. Turning off/on the Helix rack solves this problem for a while until it happens again.
  4. So far no problems here with my Helix Rack plugged into my Dell desktop for weeks without shutting them down.
  5. phil_m, great explanation about what I'm experiencing. Makes sense. But I 'm confused about the benefit of parallel vs serial routing. In a serial routing setup with just amp/cab and delay blocks, and with the delay mix at 50%, the amp and delay are at full volume. Correct? In a parallel routing setup, with the amp/cab doing straight out and the delay in parallel with the mix at 100%, don't I have the same thing I have using serial routing with the delay mix at 50%? Thanks.
  6. Using Helix Rack firmware 2.01. I'm not using any amps...simply listening to the output of the Helix Rack through the main outputs to my studio monitors. I've seen this video on Youtube showing how to setup a patch with a amp/cab going straight to Multi out with a delay and reverb setup in parallel. I've setup a patch exactly like he has in the video. And in the video he says to set the mix of the delay to 100%. When I have the mix of the delay at 50% or less, the dry signal is clear and loud with some delay. But as I set the delay mix louder than 50% the output level of the dry mix goes down. I was under the assumption the dry mix would be unaltered as I set the dry mix to 100%. What am I doing wrong, or is this working as expected? Thanks.
  7. 2 things. 1 - Restarting the rack seemed to have corrected the issue of keeping the rack and foot controller in sync. 2 - I do just about everything in the Helix editor, but today I happened to notice a message on the display of the rack that said it needed to update the foot controller to work properly. Never noticed that before. So I did that, and now my foot controller displays camera icons next to the snapshot which it didn't do before. Kinda nice. I never read anywhere about updating the foot controller. Glad Line 6 keeps thing this updated too. Hopefully this update will enable better communication between the rack and foot controller going forward.
  8. Using Helix Rack 2.01 with foot controller and editor 2.01 in Windows 10. When editing a preset using Helix Editor, the snapshot shown in the editor reflects the current snapshot active on the foot controller. For example, if I press a button on the foot controller to change to a snapshot, the editor will update to show that snapshot. And if I change the snapshot using the pull down menu in the editor, it will change the active snapshot on the foot controller This usually works. But sometimes the foot controller and the editor don't update each other. Meaning if I change to a different snapshot on the foot controller, the editor doesn't change with it. Or if I change to a different snapshot in the editor, it doesn't update the foot controller. Anyone else ever encounter this? Thanks.
