  1. Just popping in to say that the Joyo Power supply, only supplying the PGW, lasted three hours.
  2. I bought my PGW on October 27th, and am experiencing the same impedance issue. I thought the impedance was just from folks being "too picky", but it is very apparent. I thought it might have been fixed in the newer production pedals and rolled the dice and got snake eyes. I just submitted my ticket. Other than that, the pedal is great and I had no issues upgrading to the new firmware.
  3. Almost dropped a deuce when the installer said it needed Windows 10 to run ... arghh! But I just clicked OK and it installed on my Win7 laptop ... whew ...
  4. Correct, not your standard cells, but I power it with a Joyo Power supply and use this Voodo Labs cable to double the 500 mA current from two of it's output jacks. I don't know how long it lasts ... I haven't had a chance to do a test to determine running time, but it works. If the battery goes flat, I can just plug it in.
  5. Too funny, especially the piece about the numeric display! I liked that it could run off of batteries and could take a MIDI signal. But the PGW can do both too, so it won!
  6. Yep, I've read it cover to cover, but I don't understand that callout on page 7. Maybe I should have included it in my post above to help pinpoint my cofusion. The part I don't get is " By default, it reflects the same output as the MAIN outputs (except in mono), but it can be globally switched to be tapped off directly before the Cab/ IR block. " Does it mean that I have to set something in Global Settings to make the AMP OUT automatically turn OFF amp/cab/IR? I plan on using the PGW strictly for FRFR, but was wondering if I had to go back and change my presets if I was playing out and only had an amp available.
  7. By connecting to the front of the amp, via the AMP OUT jack, does the Pod GO automatically mute the Amp and Cab/IR, or do you have to manually go in an turn OFF the amp/cab/IR?
  8. While I'm not a died in the wool Line 6 fanboi, I just bought a PGW over the Boss ME-90 for a few reasons, but an important one is based on what I perceived as "better customer support". The Line 6 forum communities are invaluable. Also, I perceive an effort by Line 6 to keep products current. Did I mention that I can edit my PGW on a Windows 7 machine; this shows me that Line 6 are looking after their customer base. I would have had to upgrade to Win10 for the Boss. Are Line 6 cannibalizing new product sales by making older/existing products relevant? Maybe, but they might be building a good case for customer loyalty ... topic for another conversation ...
  9. I've got the PGW connected via balanced adapter (TRS adapter clips on to the end of xlr cable) to the xlr port of my powered speaker. I turn OFF my pedal in the effects loop and turn to zero the output volume, but when I turn OFF the PGW I get a loud pop from my speaker each time. Is that normal? If so, then I'll have to turn the speaker off too before powering OFF the PGW ... ;-)
  10. I bought the PGW because it was cheaper than the PG. I wasn't thinking too much about the wireless part. But I have a digitech Whammy DT that I was just going to feed into the PGW. Doh! not if I use wireless. I haven't played too much with the Edit software yet, so if I wanted to go wireless to the PGW, would I have to somehow send out the DT in the middle of my presets somewhere using the physical effects loop connectors on the back? Also, I was hoping on using the DT to handle the impedance issues (if it pops up on my PGW), but now I think I might have lost that trick if I send out to the DT? Thanks in advance for any clarification on this!
  11. HD 500 Edit hangs when I try to select a Variax Model. Running a Variax 300 into the POD HD500. Using HD 500 Edit on Windows 7 Pro and I'm trying to create a custom patch. I select 300 from the Variax dropdown > try to select any model, custom or Line 6, and then HD 500 Edit hangs. Is this common?
  12. Figured out the problem ... for those who are interested. I created the problem myself by randomly pressing down on the selector knob; I didn't know it was part of the manual programming process. During the manual process I'm supposed to keep holding the knob down until I stored the sound in a Custom bank. Anywho, a quick firmware reset solved it.
  13. Just started recently and the sound cuts out and gets echoey, comes back for about two seconds and then cuts out again; and ONLY on the T-Model knob selection and with all five positions on the selection switch. Everything else works great. Could this be: simple hardware knob issue that just needs some contact cleaner However when I jiggle the knob nothing happens. software issue; just go into Variax workbench and reset the guitar models for the T-Model bank an electronic issue with some component gone awry Thanks in advance for any and all advice. Take care
  14. Thanks @psarkissian for the fast response! So it looks like the software interfacing the 500X wants to read/connect with the software interfacing the Variax. ... and the Workbench HD (used on the 500X) cannot read/connect with Variax Workbench. Workbench HD can only read/connect with Variax Workbench HD (for newer Variax guitars)? This means that if I have a 500X and want to add my Variax300 models to a patch, it won't work because Workbench HD is looking to read/connect with Variax Workbench HD? I'm assuming that the only way to add a Variax model to a patch is with the proper compatibility between Workbench and Workbench Variax? Are the following my two options?: buy a 500 knowing that Workbench will be able to connect with Variax Workbench when I'm adding Variax models to a patch. buy a 500X, but not be able to program a Variax model to a patch, and manually adjust my Variax300 when I change patches on the 500X However the Variax will still be able to be played through the 500X via the Variax connector. Thanks and take care!
  15. Just picked up a Variax 300 in the fall and am having a hoot with it! I was looking at getting a used POD 500 or POD 500X but am confused by what I read on the forums. From an old post: The older Variax will work with the HD500x just fine but you can't run the old Workbench with the HD500x. You will have to use the dongle to work with Workbench. The other features work and you can select which type Variax you have when you set them up on the HD500x. It looks like the Variax workbench is not compatible with the 500X; but I don't get it. I want to use the Variax workbench to program the 300; what does the 500 software have to do with programming the 300? I have the physical usb connection dongle and program the 300 all the time. Since I don't have a 500(X), I'm just assuming I plug the Variax 300 into it and then the pedal can read the guitar's stored models and I just add a model to a patch that I create. Then when I play and pull up a new patch the guitar changes with the patch? What am I missing? Thanks in advance for any and all help!

  17. WARNING! Non-Line6 products will void your warranty! OK, now that's out of the way, I recently purchased a Variax 300 and needed a power supply. I bought one from here https://www.ebay.ca/itm/394012304176?hash=item5bbcf6a330:g:CSIAAOSwtuZiZrJg&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoMguJeGZ8cSNGbIf5KOmOE4pfFik9zonkIuKO7ufWs2NRG5ikt6HG1DtQ3pnD6t%2F%2BtSKKvcn0OskIS%2B7aEV0hkx9z8aCJsHnqAYwKPYS%2FxS6b4KciT7CmPQPTfwS%2FvTWz3ihcZzWjorU81BqdVQ2bNc7wnP1dsk%2BT38Idw4aO7cyZ2PD94KVcX%2F7LuHhWtX8rAoc47VUdIkC9tXJ06MRyro%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5bb9r2SYQ and it works like a charm. Also, his pedal has a switch to change from 9vc to 7.5 for the newer ones. Totally recommend his pedal!
