Gain-Variante Translation: You may (most easily in HX Edit) change the values of “Min Position” and “Max Position” for the volume block in the “Bypass/Controller Assign” window, e.g. set the Min value to 20%, then the volume in the heel position is not reduced to 0, but only to 20%, i.e. it gets louder faster when you “step on the gas”. Personally, I prefer to use GAIN instead of VOLUME. With GAIN, you can enter values for Min Gain and Max Gain in the window mentioned above; I usually use -6 dB and +6 dB. However, this means that the “ regular” volume applies when the pedal is in the middle position. It gets louder when the pedal is fully depressed and quieter when the pedal is fully pulled back (“heel position”), see second image.
  2. in fact there is a similar tool for Windows: https://vb-audio.com/Cable/ After installation it will provide additional devices in the Sound Control Panel -> 'CABLE Input' as a playback device and 'CABLE Output' as a recording device. Setting 'CABLE input' as the Standard Playback Device for all sound output and 'CABLE Output' as Standard Recording Device (or make Zoom do the recording from 'CABLE Output' explicitly) should do the job.
  3. finally my ticket got auto-closed after this reply a couple of day ago: I keep my fingers crossed that QA will decide to fix this issue some day...
  4. Well, my ticket is still open - 2 weeks have already passed since my last reply ('not satisfied with the solution/explanation...'). I'm still hoping that the 2nd level support will take care of my ticket...
  5. No, no, we're talking about exactly the same thing. The focus is not the main problem. Here is what I wrote: For some reason the processor of my ticket completely ignored the fact that the wrong block is displayed in the lower part of the display. I guess I need to emphasize that my complaint is mainly about the block shown in the display. I don't really care about which block got the focus. In my opinion, there are virtually 2 pedals, between which you can switch with the toe switch (Exp 1 & Exp 2). Therefore, the display should be updated accordingly when switching.
  6. Well, Support basically says 'It's not a bug, it's a feature' Apparently the same applies for the block shown in the lower display part :-( Not sure if I should accept this answer...
  7. Update: the Factory Reset unfortunately didn't fix the issue. New observations: I can reproduce the issue e.g. with preset 01A (US Double Nrm) of setlist Factory 1. However, here it's the Wah block that remains visible in the lower display and has the focus in the signal flow even if EXP 2 (Volume block) became active the issue occurs only if Global Settings -> Footswitches -> Stomp Select is set to either "Press" or "Touch and Press". The factory default setting, however, is "Touch". With setting "Touch" or "Off" the display remains unchanged when the toe switch is pressed. I would be grateful if anyone could confirm this behavior with the Helix LT.
  8. Thanks! Yes, I'll try a Factory Reset. Hopefully this will fix the issue!
  9. Thanks a lot for your solution proposal! I did as you described, - including the SAVE step. However it didn't fix the issue on my Helix LT. Then I tried Bypass assign to EXP 1 / EXP 2 instead of to EXP Toe for both Wah and Volume blocks. With this setting none of the blocks gets the focus or is shown in the lower part of the display. Very strange...
  10. I wonder if this is a bug: Prerequisites / basic settings: Wah block assigned to EXP 1 (toe switch, inactive) Volume block assigned to EXP2 (toe switch, active!) Preset was saved with the focus on the Output block (could be any other block, though), i.e. Output block is shown in the bottom part of the display when the preset is loaded --------------------------------------- now I press the toe switch to activate the Wah block (EXP 1) -> the red LED lights up -> Wah block becomes active, Volume block inactive but the lower part of the display now shows the name and parameters of the Volume block and the Volume block in the signal flow window got the focus (light gray frame) I observed this behaviour before and even after the recent update to firmware 3.71.0 I've tried other presets and other settings, e.g. engaging the Wah depending on the Expression pedals position, but the error persists. Each actuation of the toe switch brings the Volume block up on the display, regardless of whether EXP 1 or EXP 2 has been activated Can anyone comfirm or deny this behaviour? Is it of any use or is it just an error?
  11. I really appreciate your answer. Sorry for being inaccurate in my description. Let me elaborate on this: I am basically using a downloaded preset that consists of an amp, a cab, an EQ block and a Compressor (always on, not assigned to foot switches). I added distortion blocks of my choice and finally wanted to boost the overall volume for lead parts. So instead of adding another EQ or gain block just to increase the loudness I decided to use one of the above mentioned (always on) effect blocks. I assigned the 'Level' parameter of the last block in my signal chain to a foot switch that now toggles the 'Level' value between 0 dB and +6 dB. As described above I can change the LED ring color of the foot switch to any color but the block color remains grey. I was just suprised because a block usually takes the same color that is chosen for the LED ring (if 'Bypass' is assigned to a foot switch). But maybe this behaviour is intentional to emphasize that it is not a Bypass on-/off switch.
  12. Could anyone please confirm or deny that this is not a bug but standard behaviour?
  13. In stomp mode (aka Performance View) the effect block (e.g. of an EQ) turns gray as soon as I assign its parameter 'Level' to a footswitch. Of course I can select another color for the LED ring of the footswitch, but the block still remains gray. Is there a way to change the color of an effect block in this scenario? Of course it works properly if I assign the 'Bypass' function to a footswitch, i.d. the block appears in the same color as the footswitch LED. The issue is with the Helix LT running the most recent firmware. P.S.: I found an old posting from 2017, that basically addresses the same issue, but it doesn't really provide a solution
  14. Global Settings > Display > Tap LED deactivating the 'Tap LED' setting should do the trick https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a4010c935bb66a4c0c44f/application/pdf/HX Stomp Manual - English .pdf page 43 I don't think you can assign a different function to the Tap Button. Afaik this is only possible with the Helix Floor. I own an Helix LT and it doesn't support it
  15. The 'Free Orban Loudness Meter' https://www.orban.com/freeorbanloudnessmeter might be useful to adjust the output level of different presets/snapshots. There is an explanation on Youtube: https://youtu.be/P6U_kq0Nu2o and a video I found on https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/382916-how-do-I-use-a-loudness-meter-to-set-peak-level-to-12dB-before-capturing Actually, I used the values of 'ITU BS.1770 Short Term & Integrated" and 'Reconstructed Peak' to level the output
  16. First off thanks a lot for this great and helpful thread! I just receiced my Helix LT today and immediately screwed it up during the firmware update, carried out by HX Edit (most recent version!). Most likely the reason for the failure was my computer entering 'energy saving mode" while the update was still running. Anyway, following the steps to fix the issue I struggled at step 4: "download the actual firmware", I got the error shown in the screenshot below. The message basically says: "XML execution error: malformed address". long story short: the issue only occurs with Firefox, while I could execute the download w/o errors with the Chrome browser (later - on another computer). Luckily I was able to run the "Line 6 Updater" using the sign-in option (disregarding step 8 of the description) and the updater did a perfect job. Maybe this information is useful for people experiencing the same issue when trying to download the firmware. Kind regards Guenther
