  1. Well now I've done it. I bought a Helix Rack so now I need to wire the Mission back up as it was from the factory. Minor problem. I think I tossed the original toe switch and didn't take a picture of the wiring. Can someone please remind me what toe switch was in this thing and how to solder it back up (connection points)?
  2. I used to own one of those. And several other iterations of Line6 products, amps, wireless, etc. I'm a fan so you can back off the fanboy nonsense, DunedinDragon. Or was that supposed to be humorous? If it is, might I suggest you not quit your day job to take up stand-up comedy? It won't end well for you. Here is a better solution for Line6. Hire the product manager at Strymon. Great sound can be simple. Just like great smart phones can be simple (read: Apple). Line6 can cater to both universes or at some point, these little guys that have figured out how to package things up much better than Line6, will begin to eat into their market share...if they haven't already.
  3. Thank you for the civilized reply. The previous poster missed my point about satellite radio entirely - I wasn't saying Helix sounds over compressed - I was saying that satellite radio is more focused on adding more and more channels to the detriment of the most basic thing when listening to satellite radio - the sound. Line6 seems more interested in adding more amps, more effects, IRs, knobs here and there while forgetting the most basic thing about their products - most users aren't in bands playing professionally and want to take the thing out of the box and it should sound damn good. But if you're going to make the product more and more complicated then at least find a way for us to learn and experiment with the editor while not sitting in front of the actual unit. And its not Native. Native doesn't show me Powercab Plus connections with the preset-saved speakers or PC IRs. It's a plug-in for a DAW. So unless Line6 built a dummy plug-in for a DAW that makes Native think its seeing my hardware setup used on Helix floor, then Native is pointless to me. Its even more pointless because I don't record nor use a DAW. And I meant no disrespect to Jason's videos. I watch them. He's a wonderful player and knows his sh&t as well, if not better, than the product managers at Line6. The issue I have is that I HAVE TO WATCH THEM at all.
  4. Bumping this thread with a request for "remote editing" via hardware emulation. Helix is such an intricate product that has had many many updates with new features that are all fantastic. It is beyond comprehension why remote editing wouldn't be a logical next step so that customers can explore and change their presets, etc. without being in their studio or hunched over their floor model for hours on end trying to edit and experiment with just the sundry of routing options alone. I thought perhaps Native would be the way to enable remote editing with another plug-in for hardware emulation of the Helix device you own. But no. Instead, we just keep getting more and more amps, effects, etc. while the out-of-the-box experience just gets more and more complicated. Line6 seems to be in satellite radio mode. More more more more channels. Nevermind that nobody will ever listen to them all AND they all sound like over compressed crap. Time to shift some resources into making this wonderful ecosystem of products you built easier to use out of the box vs. having to watch 40 hours of Jason Sadite's videos just to get the gain staging right between Helix and a Powercab Plus....using L6 Link no less? How does this NOT work out of the box? Rant over....or perhaps a different rant for another day. Remote editing. Now please.
  5. Thanks very much! I swear to god there are no markings on this thing! I'm looking at it with a magnifying glass app. Geesh. I can't even find a datasheet or something indicating the pinout.
  6. I ordered a Dunlop ECB035 and there are no pinout diagrams or markings that I can see. It is a DPDT switch but in looking at the picture above I wonder if I was supposed to order a SPDT? Can someone help me with a wiring diagram? I very much so want to use the toe switch on my SP1-L6H as a bypass on my Helix floor. Thanks in advance!
  7. Great video! Except I cannot get my Powercab 12 Pluses (2 of them) into yellow. Mine either remain green or is green and red flickers. I tried with a clean patch just straight guitar into the Powercabs as well as several patches, etc. I'm leaving with red flickering on as I'm not hearing clipping but are just curious why I can't get to yellow lights on either of the Powercabs?
  8. Nevermind. Found it in the PC Editor app. Doh!
  9. Noob question - how the hell do I put it into LF RAW mode?
  10. All good points. They could use an external power source. They won't do it so it is what it is. I don't like hauling my laptop downstairs to connect it up with USB. I'd much rather use an iPad and be wireless. But whatever...I'm done beating this dead horse. My wishful thinking ends here.
  11. Thanks. I just started reading the forum and didn't know that. That said, they could use a USB-WiFi dongle. Certainly enough bandwidth using WiFi. Point taken though - I need to settle or wait for a new HD model.
  12. Nah, I don't believe that. The hardware is there - its no different than plugging a BT adapter into a USB port on a PC. They would need the low level drivers though and add features in the software to detect the presence of the BT module vs. a regular USB connection. Room for the drivers might be an issue but even that is a very small footprint. Then they'd have to mod the iOS app to support the HD500X...and that could take some work but it could be done. I'm guessing the iOS side of the equation might be heavier lifting. Either way, some comment from Line6 on the viability of this would be nice. If I thought is was feasible and that they plan to add such a module then my decision to keep the HD500X is easy. Personally, I'd pay $250 for such a module and iOS support. They could package it with the HD500X and new amp models as well and sell it for $800 retail and still be competitive with Fractals up coming floor model.
  13. Well since I stated that the HD500X could be a step up that would imply the Firehawk FX doesn't quite cut it. ;) There is zero reason why they couldn't add support for a wireless add-on (heck, even WiFi if not BT). I like the HD500X and the form factor - I just hate the stupid USB cable and connecting a computer. Their silencing is deafening though....I'm guessing you're right and they will hold off on that for the HD-whatever#. Sucks to be me because I just paid $500 for the HD500X.
  14. Any plans to add support for the HD500X series on the iOS/Android platform? This seems to be very popular on ideascale. Any chance of adding a USB BT dongle to communicate with the iOS/Android platform? I just returned an AMPLIFI FX100 and bought a HD500X and now you guys announce the Firehawk FX. Great stuff but it seems to me the HD500X is a USB-BT dongle away from being a step up from the Firehawk FX.
