  1. Signal level metering is a must, at least on the output but through the chain would be awesome. Another clean amp, just one more please. Variax Workbench integration. Slow Gear simulation would be cool. MIDI tempo sync, how was this left out? The Helix is an amazing unit. It has literally changed my life, I won't bore you with the details but it's true. Thank you Line 6!
  2. I looked for one for mine and after a lot of reseach ended up with the Mono Vertigo. It's not a hardshell but It's enough protection for my local gigs. I might even put it on a plane, it's that good. Good luck, Rick
  3. Oops. Posting with my phone... YES
  4. The red 89F is simply beautiful. I own a PRS Custom 22, Custom 24 and a '64 Strat. They pretty much hang on the wall since I got the 89 and the Helix. A powerful combination, well worth the wait. Hang in there...
  5. OK, it was the computer I was using. Tried it with my laptop and all is well.
  6. It said it failed and asked me to reboot and when I did it now says: Boot failure. Entered update mode! There is an orange 0 in the upper left corner of the display and the helix animation is running under the message. Anyone else?
  7. Yep, just bought the Mission Line 6 pedal. It's going back! I bought it for the wha but no toe switch is the deal breaker. It's really is over priced for what it is too, a pedal with one pot in it. Really disappointed. There must be a better solution...
  8. http://www.amazon.com/Line-Variax-Digital-Interface-Cable/dp/B000JLMXSC?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 That's the cable for it. I also bought a JTV because I bought the Helix. The fact that it can save the Variax settings in a patch is huge. One thing I wasn't counting on was the total silence in the high gain patches. If I go the the magnetic pickups it's a reminder of one of the great benefits the Variax offers. All of the models are completely silent. No turning down the volume on your axe or trying to figure out which way to rotate and stand, just beautiful silence. That alone is worth the price of admission to me.
  9. I agree, the time limit is very frustrating. I bought a looper years ago and never really got in to it much. This looper I use all the time and the limitation is such a disappointment. A very poor decision in what is otherwise a superb product.
  10. I've searched the Forum and it didn't come up with an answer. I've Googled it also, nothing definitive. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good case?
  11. I have a couple PRS's that I put the GK-Kit into. THAT was a much tougher job. Very clean, nothing shows except the pickup and the connection plate for the cable. There was no room in the 89F for the connection plate or the electronics internally. For whatever reason, this one tracks even better than the PRS's. Love having the GR-55 in addition to the Helix, great combo!
  12. No, ...you'll have to make room. I had to move the bridge pickup about 1/4" toward the neck to install it. Well worth it!
  13. Have you tried a guitar on both inputs? With active pickups you should be slamming the front end. I do wish the Helix had some kind of metering so we could monitor internal levels.
  14. So, you're measuring that at the output going into a computer or whatever? Where do you have the volume knob set? Is there a pad on what you're going into?
  15. I just created a new patch with just a bass amp. My input is set to accept all inputs. The auxiliary input is lower but it is easily made up with gain stages in the compressor, preamp, or whatever. Maybe it's the difference in the impedance? It shouldn't be any kind of issue you can't deal with. This unit is so superb to anything else I used over the years in the fact that you can process both sides of the Stick in one unit. I had been using the VG-99 for many years and this is such a step up! Good luck.
  16. My unit has frozen on me twice in the past week or so. While editing, disconnected from the computer, the controls become unresponsive. A reboot fixed it both times. While it was frozen, it still passed the audio through the unit unaffected.
  17. I use a Stick also, with passive pickups. I had Emmitt double wind them for a beefier sound and I have a Seymour Duncan Hot Rail on the melody side, switchable with the stock pickup and I have no problem getting enough gain on the normal inputs. I would think your active pickups would give you more than enough level on the guitar and auxiliary inputs. Can you describe in a little more detail what you are experiencing?
  18. I love that I can use both the melody side and the bass side with the Helix!
  19. Since the Helix does IR's, is there anything stopping us from using IR reverbs? That seems like a simple solution. I just got my Helix and have not had the time to try it, maybe someone here can give it a shot.
