Line 6 will just do what they're gonna do, based on their own internal reasons. A huge amount of their customer base desperately wanted a new Vetta and L6 didn't listen to that demand...and we know that wish never came true. The SV MKII is yet another amazing amp. Hopefully they listen and someday continue with the line, but being that it's been 4 years, I doubt it. I don't believe at all though that the DT series is a next gen of the SV line. The only similarity is The Bogner back end. Two completely different amps on all fronts. They just decided to put all their eggs into the DT series, that's all. In my opinion, they should get their asses going on a Vetta/Bogner amp, but again...I doubt it. I'm really happy though, with my 500x and Matrix power amp.

I come from a tube background. Everything I've ever used has tubes somewhere in the rig. Whether it's straight tube head, pedals. Or a pod and a tube head or a pod and a tube power amp. I just bought a Matrix GT1000fx power amp. It's a solid state, modern technology, power amp....made for modeling. It replicates all the nuances of a tube amp perfectly to my ears...and apparently many other well known rock star types share the same opinion. I'm using it with my HD500x. I still have my egnater armageddon as a back up, but I'm telling you....this power amp is amazing. A lot of pro touring musicians are using the AxeFx and Matrix as their main rigs now...but with a POD, it performs just as good. I paid $750 for it from the UK and it showed up in a few days. The thing weighs only 8lbs. It's amazing. 1 space so it's perfect for very busy gigging musician in smaller venues, in terms of weight and size. It also cranks way loud through my Mesa 4x12. I normally can't stand solid state/cold sounding amps, but this sounds nothing like those. Even the Vetta to me sounded colder the louder you cranked it. But that's just me. This power amp has the dynamics, feel, response, warmth, power and tone of a tube amp. When you crank it....the response is better, hotter, more gain and feel....just like tubes. It was designed for modeling preamps. Right now my 50lb tube heads and my 100lb Mesa 4x12's are not being used. I'm running 2 Orange 1x12 cabs, a 2 space rack with the Matrix and a Furman and a pedal train pro board (the bigger one) with my HD500x and analog pedals mixed in. It sounds just as massive as my tube head rig, with even more dynamics. If you're looking for an alternative to lugging around your heavy head as power to your POD, look at these. http://uk.matrixamplification.com/rack-amplifers/gt-1000-fx-1u.html

LOL...YES!

Huh? You wanna connect a amps channel footswitch to a POD? Whaaaat?

Just assign an OD pedal to a switch.

I switched my new transmitter to RF1, after experiencing a few random dropouts. It fixed the issue. Thanks for the help.

There is a bug after either updating the flash memory and/or using POD edit. Like the gentleman said below, his works fine....but I've experience this and I've read, at least one other has. I have a MB pro, about 3 years old...with Mavericks...healthy laptop, all the current OS updates, works perfect in general. After I flash a POD HD 500X and or import presets to it through "edit".....the OS shuts down with a grey/blue error message screen on my mac, and reboots....after the USB completes any kind of communication. It does happen, it is a bug and it's legit.
-
It's a defect. Some of them will not get past the error. The computer sees the device...but any form of communication...whether it's an flash update or receiving presets via edit.....will always error out. I tried on windows 7, windows 8 and MAC OSX 10.9. All different laptops. All failed. I exchanged it for another one and the replacement works fine. There was no way around it.
-
It happens in Maverick too. Seems to work fine with updates and all that....but on a 500x reboot, after an update...seems to crash my MAC. I wonder if I unplug the usb cable quickly after the update, if it'll still crash. Anyway, ANOTHER BUG.

From what I remember, when I had my 500 (I have a new 500X)...you can assign midi CC's and program changes on the bottom row (where the 4 pod presets are)...ONLY if you're in pedal board mode. It didn't have the capability to be in preset mode...and have a pod preset and a midi assignment to another device (LAAAAAME). It misleads you...cuz the screens to program it are in there...it just doesn't work in POD preset mode. So that means in pedalboard mode...you're basically using one preset in the POD with instant access on/off assignments with midi assignments to another device. LAAAME. Not sure why this was or is...but it is.

I exchanged it. It should be regular policy that GC sends a "return" back to Line 6. Ugh. Anyway, I'm set.

I literally just got home with my POD HD500X from guitar center. I've had many line 6 products in the past. Including the HD500. I know these inside and out. I'm also a long time IT professional. I'M F***ING PISSED ALREADY. It seems like every single Line 6 produce I buy doesn't work flawlessly and every one of them have some sort of bug. On 3 different laptops...windows 8, windows 7 and MAC OSX Maverick....I get that same update fail. What the hell is going on with Line 6? I mean...they let products out the door that aren't rock solid. It's incredibly inconvenient, frustrating and for pro/semi-pro heavy gigging musicians...this is way unacceptable. I NEED A FIX FOR THIS ASAP.

Oh I can duplicate it. Service center, for the most part are horrible. They are barely certified to repair certain manufacturers. If I was there with the tech...I could duplicate it easily. I'll get it repaired.
-
Ya it's an odd one. Tried all those. Every scenario. Weird cuz on one hand it does look obvious that it's a physical unit issue and on the other....when I boot it up...it'll have little to no output....then like clockwork, I can reboot it and it'll be perfect after that throughout an entire 3 hour gig with no hiccups. I don't get it.
-
Which means re-installing the firmware. Many times.

I've had issues with my 2 month old HD pro where when unit is powered on...consistently, I'll have no output or little to not output. The ONLY fix is a reboot and it's fine for as long as it's turned on. I'm hooked up via 4CM to a 100watt head. The head's inputs are fine. I don't get spotty connection issues....it's just after the pod boots up....the outputs are no active until a reboot. It's not cables, it's not what I'm using for power, it's in every A/C situation, I've rolled back the firmware, reinstalled firmware, I've tried running direct to a PA via XLR outs, 1/4 outs. Happens on any firmware version. Happens on line or amp output setting. I'm 90% sure it's only the left/mono outputs. The right seems to be solid. Anyone experience this? Any fix short of having to have it repaired ALREADY.?

Ya really. All the posts have been deleted. AWESOME START.
