  1. Realistically, in a stage scenario....you can't really read that far down anyway...being how small the text is. Moot point.
  2. If you really wanna use the EP and it's not sounding good in the loop, the place it between the POD out jack and whatever power source you're using. That's line level and behaves as it would in an effects loop.
  3. Yes sir. Like a master volume boost. Like an amp that has a solo knob. You need to also place an FX block into the signal chain in the preset, assign it to a button to turn it on and off. Adjusting the return level as your solo volume control. The cable that would physically be plugged into the pod's send/return allows the loop to be activated.
  4. That loop in the POD doesn't play nice with many pedals. It'll either work or not. If you're looking for a clean volume boost...run a short jumper cable between the send/rtn of the POD loop, place an effects loop block in your chain of you preset and assign it to toggle on and off to a pedal.
  5. Couple suggestions: - Solo boosts: Run a jumper between the send/return in the effects loop jacks...and use an fx loop block and assign it to a button or the exp pedal...for a perfect/powerful clean volume boost. - In terms of low end: Just like a tube amp...if it feels like too much bottom on stage, most likely it's not too much. Walk out into the room...a number of feet out...you'll notice that in most cases what sounds/feels like too much bottom on stage...usually isn't enough...or barely enough for the room. It's about the audience's perspective...not what the hollow stage construction gives you. Most of the time...the bottom end gets lost within a few feet of the front of the stage. - Mids: I don't hear many mentioning this, but the POD line definitely has a lot of high mids (probably depending on the model). I've always needed to smooth out or even out high mids to where it's manageable. I just finally gave the global EQ a chance and found an amazing sweet spot. Prior to that, I used to have a parametric on every patch.
  6. I keep a 10 band MXR EQ in my rig. It goes between the POD's out to whatever power source I'm using. At that point, it's line level...and an incredibly powerful tool to use if needed. I keep it on but totally flat, and boost or cut a frequency that's needed for the room. In that configuration, it works far better than the new global.
  7. Like Zap said, no. You can't upgrade a unit to add that either. Like any other processor, it's more seamless if you're not always changing patches, but rather working in the patch/preset....then you can instant access turn on and off delay and it will trail off that way, while in the same preset.
  8. I experienced the same thing with the script. Honestly the normal Phaser works just as good as the script one....has way more even EQ sound to it. Highs, mids, lows. Probably depends on the amp model you're using, but with a more high gain situation....it does sound muffled to me. I'd say just back off on the regular phase settings and do away with the script one.
  9. You're kind of missing the point. All good. Original point was yes you can get tube tone and tube feel today with a modeler. Take care.
  10. Ya, I would NEVER, in a pro...live situation...use the POD direct to a board. Way too much EQing has to be added (eq blocks) to smooth out the harshness of the direct tone. I was more talking about a situation where you're plugging into a solid state source/power amp...made for modelers. In that situation...if configured right, you can't tell the difference in an A/B situation. I'm using either my 500X or my ProX, with a Matrix GT1000FX to an orange 4x12. I keep buying high end tube heads...as either a back up or if I feel like using a tube head....and I keep selling those heads...because I cannot match the tone and feel of my non tube rig.
  11. Brother, it's 2015. If you know how to dial tone in and EQ and you're running good cabs, power amps (Matrix), well built guitars...you can DEFINITELY get real tube tone and feel now. It's possible YOU haven't found real tube tone with a modeler...but believe me, it's very possible. My tube heads sit at home most of the time now and rarely see a gig.
  12. You purchased the wrong bundle my friend: You want this: http://line6.com/store/downloads/hdmodelpacks Not this: http://line6.com/store/downloads/modelpacks
  13. The HD series was released in 2010 my friend.
  14. Tb: Hold down the View button, then scroll all the way down. Then hit enter to turn it on. I heard the global does not work through L6 link.
  15. I was hoping the global EQ sounded a little better, but for my ears...just won't work. I have an MXR 10 band on my pedalboard. It's all flat...and when I'm in a room where my cab needs more or less bottom....more or less highs...I quickly dial it in. From what I heard with 2.6 so far, my MXR is still a way better sounding solution. The minute I turn on the global it should sound flat until I start tweaking, but that's just me.
  16. It definitely needs work. To my ears it's very cold and sounds nothing like a 5150 so far. I'd say if you take the panama riffs out of the equation, it just sounds fizzy and cold. You'd have to EQ out the nasty frequencies with an EQ block.
  17. For me, for a live big rock gig....stage volume level....the XLR's aren't a realistic option. Unless, I'm running through a lot of headroom wattage powering it up to compensate for the volume drop. I was bummed too, but that's what it is.
  18. What are you comparing a Matrix price against? They're $750. They could easily get away with doubling that and people would pay that. Fryette, Mesa power amps etc...$1500. It all depends on what you're looking for and what you're comparing your price points to. For me, I'm not a boutique amp guy at all...but my history includes amps that are generally within the 1200-2500 price range....so this price point is incredibly reasonable, especially given the consistent performance and tone I get.
  19. I've gigged with my Matrix a number of times. I still have tube heads because getting over the mental block of "having to have big tube amps" hasn't left my mind. However, I get in the mood here and there and say "What am I doing...I'm a rock guitar player...let me power my POD with my tube head". I'll do that for a few gigs...then realize something's missing tone-wise (obviously something only I can hear or care about). Then I plug back into my Matrix and AWWWWEE. The tone is perfectly balanced, a perfect flat EQ/response, with that EVH sag, complete definition, punch, "TUBE TONE", power, headroom, etc. The power amp weighs like 6 pounds. My 2 space rack, 4x12, POD HD500x sounds way better, bigger, better in every way...more versatile than any tube head I've owned in years. My my opinion, but I'd say try it.
  20. Matrix GT1000fx. Best power amp hands down, matched with any of the L6 stuff.
  21. Not sure why anyone would open a question like this. Bizarre. There are way too many variables to say "EQ settings for maple?" LOL!!! Come on dude...turn a few knobs until you like what you hear. One man's settings will NEVER translate to your rig. Just dial s*** in.

    Dual AMP

I'd love to use it...but with the POD, in my experience....you lose a lot of output when in stereo mode. To each his own...but it loses bite, power, definition, and volume/output....when wanting that real world, stage volume...big rock venue output.
  23. Matrix power amp for medium size gigs and a PRS Archon head for large gigs. Both sound amazing.
