  1. Thank you very much. There were a couple on the original bundle that got overwritten on my 500x that I had done some modifications on, and when I downloaded 2.6, I completely wiped them out. I never could recreate those sounds. Thanks again. :)
  2. Like the others have said, ditch the earbuds. You can purchase a good pair of enclosed ear headphones for a reasonable price, and your low end, and mids will be better right out of the box. Don't buy noise cancellers, because if you are trying to get a decent sound, those things really aren't good for that.
  3. May be that something in the amp is getting some RF from somewhere close. I had a similar problem that was happening with a Fender head, in my home studio setting, and it turned out that the major problem came from 1 of 4 CFL bulbs I had in there for lighting.. That was tested by turning the lights on and off, one at a time. How a bulb that was 7 feet away could cause an amp head to pick up a gospel radio station is beyond me, but that was what the deal was. Changed out the bulb for a LED bulb, and now there is no problem. Doesn't matter if you are running shielded cabling or not. You may also be close to things in your neighborhood that put out a lot of RF. Ham operators, big power company transformers, etc..
  4. Peter. First off, I want to thank you for those informative videos. I actually stumbled across them, and your downloadable patches yesterday. The info on setting the parametric eq is amazing, and has helped my tone, (which I've bitched about internally), immensely. I would like to thank you very much for the in depth explanations, and demonstrations. I was happy with my 500x, but after your videos, and patches, I have not only eliminated the tone suck of the pod, but I've done some minor tweaking to match the pickups on my guitar, and am quite satisfied with the sound now. :) Thanks again.
  5. I got frustrated with the tinny sound of the the stereo cable method with my Mustang IV, and I ended up just plugging into the front, with an A/B switch, so I could bypass, and also use the amp models on the MIV.. It's not ideal, but it seems to get a better sound, than the send/return method. I probably just need some time to do a bit of tweaking on the 500x to get a fuller sound.
