I have owned and played my Lowdown for years and it has developed into my signature sound for my band; so, I would love to see a version of that piece of gear make it's way to the helix. There is already a few of line 6 guitar models why not the bass amp that kick so much lollipop but never got the due credit it so deserved. Thanks, I have uploaded this on ideascale as well.

I submitted this request here: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/DT-amp-compatibility-for-Helix/726817-23508?submitted=1 Please go vote for it. Let Line 6 know how important this is. Thanks!!

Just curious what styles of music you guys play, and which amp models you're diggin' in the Helix. Should be getting mine after the 12/18 ship date I was told... but not too confident that's when it'll be. And of course I love to hear what others are sayin' about this thing. Hit me!

Hey guys question here . So me and my drummer buddy were playing with the helix yesterday and basically set it up so both my guitar and his electric drums came through the helix and recorded directly onto reaper, The question is, when you have two signals on the helix , so one for guitar then the drums in the fx send , when recording on reaper is there a way to have the drums and guitar go to separate recording paths on the recording interface instead of being on one combined path so that you can then eq the tracks separately ? On another note, it sounds impressive still but being able to relevel separately when mixing would be great. Here's what we did (just a soad cover to play around https://soundcloud.com/smoke-signals-765125715/soad-suite-pee-cover-drums-and-guitar

Has anyone else tried to use the mic input on the Helix for vocals? When using just headphones, are you able to hear anything without turning the mic gain way up (which causes distortion) as well as the headphones volume? I've tried with a few different mics of varying types and nothing really helps (SM57, Neumann TLM102 w/phantom power turned on). I tried the template for guitar and vocals and I notice the same issue there. Its just entirely too quiet. Forget about hearing any sort of vocal if you are playing a guitar/bass at the same time. Am I the only one encountering this volume issue with the mic input? Thanks!

Hi there, this is what I ideally want at a live gig with my 8 piece band: My guitar goes into the Helix. Connect Helix with Line 6 Link cable to L2T (used as my floor monitor). Connect Helix with two XLR's to FOH-PA. Feed the stage-mix of the rest of the band into my L2T. When I use the volume knob on the Helix, I just want to change the volume of my guitar on the L2T and let the FOH-sound (the 2 XLR-out's) to be unchanged (and let the PA-guy handle that) And I want to be able to change the volume of the mix of the rest of the band on the L2T (less dependant on the stage mix guy). I know the first 4 bullets are possible. What about bullets 5 and 6? Thanks!

Hi, I have a analogue 2.0 Denon Stereo amplifier with two decent speakers setup in my living room. All my digital audio is routed via an external DAC into the Denon amp. Can I hookup my Helix via the S/PDIF-out into the DAC and then into the Denon amp? Or via stereo XLR-out to stereo RCA directly in the Denon? I also have a Behringer mixer that I can use. I just want to use this setup to create my sounds and to get a general idea of the stereo effects, etc. Does anyone have experience with this?

Hello everyone. I know there are already a couple of threads with users reporting hiss and issues with XLR output to their board. In summary it appears this is mainly due to the board sending phantom power to the Helix. My ask to the community to help others is what is the recommended configuration for sending your Helix guitar signal "Mono" to a board for each condition below? Assumptions - 1. XLR Left Mono Out Conditions - 1. Board is sending Phantom Power to device (Phantom power can not be turned off) 2. Board is not sending Phantom Power Questions - 1. When should i use Mic level output versus Line level output?

So I'm wanting to record bass tracks through the Helix, but the kicker here is that I don't have a bass (nor do I desire to spend the money on one). I'd be able to plug my Strat or Les Paul in, use a Pitch Wham effect to detune, and run it through one of the bass amp models, right? Anyone tried anything like that? Haven't noticed it in any threads here, or any videos.

So maybe you guys can help with this. With my band I'm running a Helix through a Friedman ASM-12 cab. Typically I have my master knob set at 2:00 to get a good amount of stage volume and send another XLR line to FOH for them. Last couple of shows the sound engineer had me lower my volume sent to them to about 9:30 which resulted in very low stage volume through the Friedman. Does anyone know if the headphones seperate volume knob send the same type or amount of volume? That way I could have 2 seperate signals: one as much as I want for the Friedman and the other for FOH as much or little as they need. Axe Fx has this solution with 2 separate volume knobs for sending to FOH and stage volume of cab or FRFR. Thanks!

I get the whole tweak with my feet thing and the onboard editor is nice but a mouse and keyboard based editor along the lines of POD HD500X Edit is still the easiest method. Especially with the complexity and cleverness of Helix. Also how soon until additional delays are available (reverse, auto volume etc.) or is Helix to be thought of a component/controller in a big rack system.

So, I am getting my Helix on Monday. Check out my video where I talk about the videos I am going to make and where I ask you what kind of videos you would like to see.

Hello, Every since I got my Helix a few weeks ago (november 2015) that the LED screen over FS9 flickers (turns off and on rapidly) a few minutes after I turn on the unit and keeps flickering randomly. It sometimes stays off for a few seconds I don't think this problem is firmware related because it started doing this with the original 1.0 firmware and subsequently with firmware 1.03 and 1.04.1. I've tried several things to fix this problem like resetting (FS9 + FS10) the and powering off for a while but nothing works. Should I send the unit back for repair? Thanks, F.

I bought the 500 x because its operating system was like my X3 and it was rugged instead of plastic... I was also not interested in sounding exactly like certain bands it is designed to model... I get close and tweek my own style... I want to make sure that I didn't make a mistake not getting the newest design, and that the hd500x is gonna be supported for a long time...

I'm not sure if this has been answered or not, but I have a question about the looper and using an external midi controller. If I were to use an external controller to trigger the looper functions with midi commands, will the Helix (control section) go into looper mode or will it remain in preset/footswitch mode?

Early 2015 we recorded a song with the HD Pro. Now, the same song we re-recorded a few weeks ago with the Helix: guitars, bass and vocals. My conclusion: there's just nothing bad you can say about the Helix :) Listen to the difference: HD Pro: https://soundcloud.com/amazing_air/all-the-strangers Helix https://soundcloud.com/amazing_air/all-the-strangers-helixx

I LOVE the Helix BUT, I have a wish. Not with the Helix unit itself though. I wish that users (or Line 6 themselves since they would be most knowledgeable/qualified to know where a potential sweet spot might be) would come up with some sort of a gold standard for creating/sharing presets where 'Helix output volume' is concerned. I know presets are always going to sound differently depending upon the many variables in music genre/guitars/amps/headphones/studio equip/etc. But the enormous difference in volume levels ,and their effect on distortion/tone, among various shared presets (and admittedly even the ones coming with the unit itself) is ridiculous. Contrary to my previous understanding, a preset does not sound the same regardless of Helix volume output knob setting being used anymore than an analog tube amp and pedal board will. I'm using a Stage-source L3t and you can't create a preset with a low Helix output volume level and expect it to sound the same when you turn the output volume up - or visa versa. 'In that particular aspect' I've found that the 4 cable method to back of an amp actually works a little better. But it seems to me that problems could be diminished greatly for everyone if everyone had a 'reasonable' standard Helix volume output knov setting for every setup "method" being used to create the setup. One for those using four cable method, one for those who go to the front of an amp, those using headphones, Stage-source/FRFR speakers or like, etc. Maybe one volume setting could work for all. I don't know but why not at least narrow it down. Maybe simply tell others, when posting, where your Helix and general external equipment volume level was when you created it. And yes, of course you would still need to tweak tone settings to suit your own desired overall volume level for any future given venue or purpose. But at least you would have a much better idea, to start with, of what the pre-set's creator actually "intended" for it to sound like. As it is now, downloading a decent preset seems like a crap shoot. And more than likely almost all of them sound really great from the perspective of the creator and his unpredictable equipment settings. LikeComment Share

Hi everyone, I just joined the forum and this is my first post here. For the most part, I'm really loving the Helix so far and am using it straight into a Mesa Boogie Express 5:50+ or a Carvin Legacy 3. It took a bunch of tweaking and reading on this forum, but eventually I was able to get some great tones out of it. So, thanks for all your great posts advice that helped me accomplish that! Anyway, I finally decided to attempt my first firmware update tonight but the Line 6 Updater 1.04 won't recognize the Helix. I'm running it on a mid-2009 Mac Book Pro running OSX 10.9.5 (Mavericks). The Helix App 1.03 seemed to work fine because I was able to export my presets with no problem. I should note that the reason I'm still using such an old MacBook (lol) is because it has a 17" screen which Apple, in their infinite "wisdom", discontinued. And I can't update the OS due to some software that needs to run on Mavericks. I REALLY don't want to have to buy a new laptop, so any advice on getting the firmware successfully updated would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi all Just received my Helix :) It is awesome in every way except one :( After a few minutes of playing, regardless of which patch, the output volume just decreases by itself. Sorry if this has been covered before but does anyone know what causes it and, more importantly, if it can be fixed? Thanks to all who take the trouble to help and inform

took the plunge and bought a L2M today. Together with a good 110 ohm XLR cable. Connected the Helix via the Line 6 link and am very dissapointed. I must be doing something wrong. The digital clipping is back on the mandarin and brittish amps. All the others are sounding harsh and far away from all the sounds I am hearing from other Helix users. Bought the Glenn delaunne patches and only the 5150 patch is comming a bit nearer but is still souding like a cheap transistor amp My POD 500x and the DT25 amp sounding much better. This combination helix/l2m should at a minimum sound the same So, what am I doing wrong? (FW loaded again, stock patches via the headphone OK, NOK with the lm2) Someone having an idea? I am running out....

Any possibility of having the option on Helix to go from 1-128 intend of 000-127?
