  1. Hi Guys, I am looking for some information and recommendations on replacement of the neck for a JTV 89F. I bought this guitar because I liked the idea that I can have a locking tremelo with the option of doing alternate tuning etc. Over all I am relatively happy with the guitar but the neck is not as thin or easy to play as I like. I used to be an Ibanez player and looking to replace the neck of the 89f to something like an Ibanez super wizard neck profile. Any ideas/thoughts on where I can go to find after market necks? and what will fit/not fit in the neck socket?
  2. I don't know. My JTV89F just isn't working with the HELIX. Same cables work with the VDI and connect with Monkey. Everything seems fine. Just REFUSES to bond with the HELIX. ALL LATEST FW. Did EVERYTHING I know how to make volume happen . . . NOTHING! 1/4" works fine between Helix and JTV. VDI - NOTHING. Not to be crude, but . . . WTF???

  4. Model: JTV-89f Firmware: 2.21 Pedal: POD HD500X and Helix I typically play rock and metal. When palm muting, I am trying to achieve a nice crisp sharp attack with heavy distortion. Even with the high gain pack, I cannot seem to achieve this sound. The notes all sound muddy. I have tried positioning the pickups in minor increments up and down in workbench HD and while the tone definitely changes from brighter to darker tones, the mud is present regardless of placement. Am I missing some settings? Is this style of sound simply not the intended aim of the JTV (it seems most of the models are for vintage guitars)? Just looking for some help / information on getting modern metal tones out of the guitar. Thanks!
  5. Hey lost the larger wrench shipped with the JTV 89f. I am assuming this is the truss rod wrench, or the birdge height adjustment for the Floyd Rose. Could someone tell me what the size of the truss rod adjustment wrench pretty please?
  6. So I'm wondering if this is normal. I have a JTV 89f, Pod HD500x, into a DT 25 head. My problem happens power everything up. If I have the JTV plugged in using the Variax cable when I power up then try and change tones on the Pod Via footswitch the Pod freezes up and goes to the line 6 reboot screen. Once it reboots the tones switch correctly but I'm not sure if everything sounds quite right but that could be my ears just assuming something's off because of the reboot. Now if I turn everything on without plugging in the JTV first everything works great. It's not that big of a deal other than having to unplug my guitar when I'm done. I'm just hoping that it's not a symptom of another problem. For a long time I thought that something was wrong with the Pod until I got into a kick of playing my Les Paul instead of my JTV for awhile and noticed the issue was gone. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone has had the same issue or if this is just the order it's supposed to power up my rig. I know that your supposed to power things up in a certain order according to some of the other forums but is plugging in your JTV part of that order? Thanks in advance.
