mikelapointe
I realize this has probably been asked and responded to, but I'm not good at searches so.... I have a JTV-69 and a Pod HD500X. Although I tend to play wireless, I'm finding that for certain songs, I need to be able to flip between acoustic models with a direct (no amp) patch on the HD500X and, for example a Les Paul model through a plexi amp on the HD. I've been told this can be done using the Cat 5 cable that came with the JTV. Can anyone walk me through the process of programming in this way please? phil_m
Have you seen this video? http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd/video-tutorial-connectivity-series-pt-1-jam-r38 The cable that came with the Variax is OK for programming patches, but you'll want to buy the actual VDI cable or equivalent for live use. The ethercon ends keep the RJ45 plugs from damaging the jacks on the guitar and HD500X.

Connect the JTV and POD using a VDI cable 2 Create your acoustic patch as you usually would through HD edit. 3. Go to the mixer tab where you'll see the variax panel. Select James Tyler Variax from the 'VDI input' drop down menu. 4. You should now see the models available via a drop down menu in the panel to the right. Choose the acoustic models you want 5. Hit 'save' 6. Repeat the process with your Les Paul patch Now, when you switch patches you'll also switch guitar models. Once you've done it a few times it becomes second nature. Good luck

Almost guaranteed to destroy something.
