AlexKenivel
Let's say I bought the model packs for my Hd500x, device broke, and I'm getting a replacement. Will I be able to use the new model packs I bought on the new device?

davidb7170
I have the full set of model packs on both my HD500X and my backup 500. Like hurghanico said, up to 4 devices. There were no issues, except for the total number of authorized devices is limited to 10, I think. I had to de-authorize something else to authorize my HD500, as I recall. That was a bit of a limitation. Dave
silverhead
If you (or anyone) encounters the limitation of 10 devices, simply contact Line 6. They will take care of it.
davidb7170
Cool -- thanks! Contact them through an issue ticket, or would I need to call them? Dave

duncann
Does anyone know what happens when you sell one pod with all the packs, but keep another pod with all the packs? Would I get to keep the packs on the pod I keep? The packs were purchased once and put on two devices.

Pretty sure you can not use the model packs on one POD you keep and gift 1 of your 4 units to someone else you sell your other POD to. Unless you bought two packs.

So if I want to sell one unit, it'll have to be without the model packs. I guess that makes the most sense. This license stuff can get kind of confusing. mattbarden
When I was using the XT I had loaned it to a buddy and he broke it somehow and I was able to load my metal and bass packs to the new one with no issues. Can't imagine it would be any different for the HD's since you can have 4 devices authorized like a few others mentioned. That's my personal experience with a similar situation anyway. Are you replacing yours because of the USB thing? I saw your other post about that too. That sucks man, I had that happen to my 500 too. Extended warranty got me an X upgrade so it turned out to be a happy accident for me lol Then a week later they started dropping info on the Helix... duncann
No. No USB problems for me. I am super extra careful with those, because I know they are fragile. Stupid me, I thought I busted it once by not looking where I plugged it in and my computer didn't recognize it. Turns out it fits in the L6 Link. Stupid. LOL. Getting rid of at least one of my units to scrounge up some money for Helix, although the lacking effects list has me questioning this.
