billlorentzen
I think I played my all time best tonight, and I have to give credit to the amazingly cool amp tones of Helix. I have used modelers for many years, for the convenience of plugging in direct, and finally with Helix, it's no longer a compromise. Thanks, L6!

duncann
So maybe there's a miniscule amount of truth to a modeler making you sound like guitarist X. :) The inspiration I get simply because of the tones Helix produces has yet to wear off for me. Sometimes that inspiration makes me play better too.
glideman
If you're confident in yourself and your equipment/tone, I think it keeps you out of the self conscious and "stage fright" zone. I think we all know what any lack of confidence at all does to our playing. Brain and fingers don't flow too much with the nerves going at any level. LoL! :)
jpdennis
I have found that using this device with headphones has already helped me build better technique. While I have always taken an honest approach to my level of skill ... play slow & clear while building accuracy to play faster & clear ... I can hear even more of my downfalls and take corrective action. As DI has pointed out it isn't about one modeler versus another. And my only experience path has been FloorPod Plus --> HD500X --> Helix. I'm just saying the clarity and quality of the Helix has made it easier for me to hear the mistakes in technique and better adjust (and hopefully improve) my skill as I practice. Oh yea, and the metronome I use is necessary! Dennis
