Johnwidrick77
Hey all- I've tried downloading the Latest update for my helix but cannot get it to open. It downloads fine however when i click to open it, it keeps saying "safari cannot open". Any help would be great! currently running mac os x el capitan version 10.11.
PeterHamm
Safari should have nothing to do with it. Download the file, quit safari, then unzip the file that downloads. That said, get Chrome or Firefox and thank me later.
datacommando
Hey all- I've tried downloading the Latest update for my helix but cannot get it to open. It downloads fine however when i click to open it, it keeps saying "safari cannot open". Any help would be great! currently running mac os x el capitan version 10.11.6 Hi John, On El Cap 10.11.6, which I am also running, I would suggest that you use the Line 6 Updater Software to flash your Helix. It's designed to work seamlessly between the 2 bits of hardware. If you have downloaded the firmware via Safari you should now have a file named: HELIX_FLOOR_v2_01_0_bundle.hxf Obviously this is a file type unrecognised by Safari, but should be seen by your Line 6 Updater. I would imagine if you double click on the file it will bring up a screen stating: "there is no application set to open the document..." and ask if you would like to search for the app. If you know that you have Line 6 Updater 1.09 installed on your Mac, simply navigate to where it is and open the file. If not, then I guess you need to install the Line 6 Updater Utility which is included as part of the package with the software editor. You will need to download and install Editor package first before you can flash the Firmware. You can D/L the stuff you need as Mac OSX disk image - "Helix2.01.dmg" - and then run that from your desktop. Several users have been caught out by trying to install different updates by not having the correct Updater utility installed. Please read carefully and follow all the instructions to the letter and everything will be fine. Remember - Fail Safe - back up everything from your Helix which you think you may need, just in case. Hope this helps.
spikey
The topic is misleading so please modify it. Its not working for you and Im sorry for that part, but on my iMac its working wonderfully. Just follow datacomms instructions above ^^ and it should work ok then.

Hi again, John, Glad to hear that you are now up and running. As for your Wet/Dry rig, search through the other threads on here and I think you may find some clues, if not an answer. Sorry , I can't help any more - 2 real amps, not my thing - I'm strictly studio based, recording straight into the Mac. Enjoy.
HonestOpinion
Thanks tons! works great! Getting used to this digital setup... any idea on how to configure a standard Wet/Dry setup using 2 real amps? Thanks again for any help- much appreciated! If you are talking about running one amp as dry and one amp as wet the first method that leaps to mind is simply putting your, for example, delay and reverb on a separate path using a split block (dragging down any block creates a split and a merge block automatically). Run your split roughly 50%/50% or adjust to taste. You can then drag down the merge block as well which will create a second output block. Send one output block to a send loop and one to the 1/4 outputs and feed them to the two separate amps. If one of your amps takes an XLR input you could use XLR for the output block instead of a send loop. Alternatively you could stick with one output block and just insert a send/return block at the end of the path that has the wet signal and use the send for the second amp. I personally don't use a wet/dry setup like the one you are attempting so someone else may have a better suggestion but this is what occurs to me off the top of my head. Maybe someone can provide you with a template or preset as a jumping off point. Update: Radatats' post here should give you a good visual of how to do this with some minor variations, keep in mind you can also use the send/return block on the second path instead of a second output block http://line6.com/support/topic/18039-wet-dry-wet-setup/?p=133789
