havenstudio
Using the FRF set up tonight and been messing around--set up sounds at stage volume and I've found that the quality of my guitar sound is perfect when I plug the helix direct into the XLR Line input at the back of the speaker. When I attempt to plug it into the input of the side mixer (with all L3T mixer options at 0) the sound degrades to a 7 out of 10. Nonetheless I'm going to go through the back panel 2night for my monitor set up and direct to FOH from the back of the helix but I was curious if others have experienced this... jbuhajla
What do you mean by "sound degrades to 7 out of 10"?
newimage
What do you mean by "sound degrades to 7 out of 10"? 7 out of 10= sounds not the greatest 10 out of 10= exemplary sound
HonestOpinion
Try checking to see if the selection on the back of the L3t is changing from "Reference/PA" or whatever you had that was yielding the "10" setting to see if it changes when you plug into the side panel. Also try playing with the input level, it probably changes when you connect to the mixer on the side from the direct input on the back. silverhead
..... The L3t rear panel inputs are expecting a Line level input signal while the side panel mixer expects a mic level input. Adjust the Helix XLR output levels accordingly (see global settings).

I think Silverhead may have nailed it here. One additional note, if you are connecting to the side panel using 1/4 instead of XLR you may want to change the settings in Global Settings --> '1/4 Outputs' to 'Instrument' instead of 'Line' or whichever sounds better. Also make sure the 'Acoustic Modeling' switch on the L3t is set to 'Off'.
