Lock factory presets

Good thinking folks. It's one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" moments.

So what gets backed up if I do a "Bundle export"? I've done one as soon as I plugged it in straight from the factory and put that into a dedicated folder. Does a bundle back everything up?

Thanks for your help :)

I avoid bundle backups. They're too inflexible for purposes of backing up and restoring during firmware updates. But to answer your question....

You use the Export function for backups. Backing up a Bundle backs up all setlists, including all presets in the setlist. Backing up a Setlist backs up all presets in the setlist. Backing up a Preset backs up the selected preset(s). You can also drag/drop presets to create backups.

None of these Export functions backs up your IRs. You need to do that using the Export IR function, and there is no Export All feature - you need to do them individually and drag/drop is your friend.

There is currently no ability to back up the device's Global Settings.

Thanks, I'll go the D&D route:)

Bundle exports are entirely worthless.

Please explain :)

Bundles are bad because they only restore all the presets as saved at the time the bundle was created.

I do a bundle just before a gig.  If helix really craps out (hasnt yet) I can do a 7 8 reset to clear all presets, then restore with the bundle.

But I always backup setlists, and individual presets (drag and drop into a folder).

Imagine if you were making some great custom presets, then you mess up a factory preset.  The bundle restore will erase your new custom presets if they're not in the bundle.

Just do a drag and drop on everything and easy restore of any individual preset.

I guess the issue is under Bundle and Setlist backups is you can not choose or pick out individual presets to restore.

Also, when it comes time to update, you will lose any new or updated factory presets if restored with a bundle.
