Tehzim
Found a good deal on Reverb and took it (probably not allowed to post a link) Used mint for only 1200. I was wondering do any of the line 6 amps (like the amplifi) work well with the Helix (using cab and amp sims)? Getting some JBL LSRs but just curious. PeterHamm
An amp with a regular guitar speaker... turn off cab sim. An amp with full range speakers... turn them on.
Tehzim
So since the Amplifi has 8 speakers rather than one guitar speaker then that one would be good for using cab sims. The Amplifi 75w is on sale for 250 on sweetwater
spikey
I know where you are going with this- as I use the same idea with my Helix into a Firehawk 1500. :)

It's the same price as the JBLs and is smaller. Great for bedroom volume
MusicLaw
Yeah the Yamaha THR10 has a aux input that has its own separate volume control. It's the same price as the JBLs and is smaller. Great for bedroom volumeAnd, it can operate on batteries! I've used my Yamaha THR10C's Stereo AuxIn jack with my Helix for low SPL arms length near field use and it sounds great! I was delighted and surprised to discover how well the THR10C held it's own A/B'd vs a set of JBL LSR305 studio monitors at low SPLs. Of course, the JBL's provide greater headroom for higher SPLs and have a fuller bottom end. Nonetheless, the Yamaha is a convenient single cord connection when run on batteries for hours of use with the Helix. I've connected it to the Helix via Helix's FX Sends (need to place FX Send Block(s) in Signal Path), Helix Headphone Out and Helix's Main Outs, all with excellent results.
