Artifacts Using Adriatic Delay with Dual Pitch

I am experiencing some annoying artifacts when playing single 1/8th notes on the D string using the subject effects with the following settings:

   Preset BPM:  78

   Amp - A30 Fawn Nrm:

      Drive:  5.0

      Bass:  3.4

      Cut:  1.5

      Treble:  5.0

      Presence:  0.0

      Ch Vol:  7.9

      Master:  10.0

      Sag:  4.0

      Hum:  3.5

      Ripple:  2.5

      Bias:  6.0

      Bias X:  5.5

   Adriatic Delay:

      Time:  1/4

      Feedback:  40%

      Noise:  4.1

      BBD Size:  4096

      Mix:  59%

      Level:  +1.6dB

      Rate:  0.294Hz

      Depth:  1.2

      Headroom:  0.0dB

      Trails:  On

   Pitch - Dual Pitch:

      Interval 1:  -12

      Cents 1:  0.00

      Delay 1:  0.0ms

      V1Level:  10.0

      Interval 2:  +12

      Cents 2:  0.0

      Delay 2:  0.0ms

      V2Level:  10.0

      Mix:  40%

      Level:  -0.6dB

After playing several 1/8th notes on one fret and then moving up or down one or more frets,  while playing the first 2-3 1/8th notes on the new fret, ugly artifacts are generated.  I suspect it may be related to the delay repeats from the prior not interacting with the note(s) generated at the new fret location.

This only occurs when both effects are on at the same time.  I appreciate any assistance.

Best Regards,

Ted

Thanks Peter.  I do have the pitch shift prior to the delay.  I will try turning the headroom parameter at the maximum value when I get home and reply with results.

Turn headroom on the Adriatic delay all the way up.

Also, put the pitch shift before the delay if it isn't already. pitch shift after delay is going to be a real problem.

Is it before the amp, too? IT's one of those "should always be first" FX

Personally I always get a MUCH cleaner harmony if I place the Dual Harmony post amp...but then I'm actually setting the intervals to actual harmony intervals..not just octaves as in this case.  When I place it before the amp I tend to get less articulation and definition to the harmonies...more noise.

Believe it or not the pitch shift blocks can also sound good in between the amp and the cab. Would never have thought to do that but saw it in a preset designed by someone else. Point as usual being that not everything necessarily translates the same from the analog world. On my old analog signal chains pitch shifters almost always tracked better when they were at the beginning of the signal chain or sometimes right after a compressor.
