Ntv_intellect
So I've had my Helix for about 3 months now and I have had amazing outcomes of tones coming out. But now I've actually got a laptop of Windows 10 and I'm hooked up via USB and I downloaded Reaper. As soon as I arm a track it recorded the track with my guitar. But as soon as the audio is done recording and I press play for the playback it says there was an error with the media is it because of the Helix drivers or am I just missing something
VirtualGuitars
Do you have the Helix setup as your audio input/output in your software?
spikey
After you get the audio/drivers input-output setup correct, be sure and read/search for setting up Windows 10 for audio, as there are settings you want to use for a DAW in a windows OS.
rd2rk
"As soon as I arm a track it recorded the track with my guitar." When you stopped the recording you saved it (a dialog box opens automatically). Yes? Since it won't play back, I'm assuming that you know it recorded because you can see the recorded waveform. Yes? In that case, I would suspect that you may have bad sectors on the hard drive (the "media"). If the track is recording (you can see the recorded waveform), and you've checked the disk for bad sectors, try the Reaper forums. If this is a common problem then someone there will know about it. I recently started using Reaper after Gibson killed Sonar (screw Henry!), did the basic setup with all defaults except for the locations of recordings (set to a different drive), and have had no problems using Helix (or Native). Tehzim
Make sure you're using the ASIO under Audio Device. Once you choose ASIO you should see one for ASIO Helix. Make sure you're using that. Can you hear other sound through Helix? If you plug it in as an interface all your PC sound should come through the Helix.
