Jake-Lee-T
So I’m a bit late to the game with this and don’t want to shell out the cash for the Helix, so I just got my Firehawk FX a few days ago. All seemed fine except for two aspects. The first is that the firmware update through the Update Utility always fails. I’ve tried following what the Utility says to do in terms of turning the pedal on while holding the preset A and preset C switches but the updates continue to fail. My second issue, and a big on for me as I was hoping to replace my BlackStar ID with this pedal is that when I record the playback audio is of my guitar detuned somewhere between a half and full step. Furthermore, the playback crackles. Has anyone else experienced these issues? Is it maybe due to the firmware updates not going through? I am running through a Relay G10 but I don’t think that would cause these issues. Thanks in advance!
Alexshim
Hello Jake-Lee, did you try the update via Bluetooth or via PC/USB? The USB connection is way better for firmware updates. Cheers, Alex
Jake-Lee-T
Hey Alex, Thanks for replying so fast! And yes I did use it via USB on my laptop running Windows 10 -Jacob
silverhead
Make sure you download and install the Line 6 driver for your Firehawk. You need to use its ASIO driver when recording.
Jake-Lee-T
Thanks Silverhead, I did download those before attempting to record since the Firehawk wasn’t recognized as an input or output device, but my issues are the result after downloading those. silverhead
Try reinstalling the firmware using the usb/pc connection and the latest version of the Line 6 Updater utility.
Jake-Lee-T
Okay, I figured out the issue for recording. I forgot to switch my preferences in my DAW from Wave Out to ASIO.
