Hardtailing the Variax Tremelo?

I don't use the vibrato bar and sometimes use heavier strings for slide work on my Variax Standard. So I hardtailed the mechanism with a wood block last weekend. Everything sounds good to me after the operation, but am wondering if there are any piezo pickup interactions I should be aware of that might impact tone.

Can't imagine what such an interaction would be. You essentially turned it into a stop-tail... if the piezos were gonna throw a fit at that, then nobody would have a working 59.
