CrazyRedd
Good day, Im really considering buying the Helix stomp but I have a major question which is going to be the dealbreaker or not. My question is; when connected to HX edit software, does Windows allow other programms (e.g. YouTube, Guitar Pro, Windows mediaplayer etc) to run sounds simultainously with HX edit along? And how would this work? Through windows soundcard/headphones out, or does it need to be connected to an amp aswell or via headphones out on the stomp? The thing is that I use GTR 3 now with ASIO channels but it only allows GTR 3 to run sound and not for example guitar pro to play along with it. silverhead
When the Helix Stomp is connected via USB it becomes your computer's soundcard. All audio produced by your computer will be routed to the Helix and heard at the Helix audio outputs. So yes, all sound producing programs running on your computer will be heard through headphones or speakers connected to the Helix. By the way - HX Edit does not produce sound. It sends and receives commands over USB to the Helix device. The audio is produce by the Helix device, not by your computer.
rd2rk
As Silverhead said, BUT...ASIO programs like GTR3 will use the Helix as soundcard. Streaming programs like YT, Spotify (non ASIO) and the like can be routed through your computer's soundcard by selecting the computer's sound card as the DEFAULT PLAYBACK DEVICE in Sound P.anel. This way, if you want to Stream YT or Spotify through your TV or stereo and have the Helix play through your guitar amp or FRFR speaker, you can do that. CrazyRedd
The answers are not very clear for me to be honest What I'm saying is that when GTR 3 is running (either standalone or via Reaper), ASIO blocks all other sound output. What i'm running right now is the guitar into a Zoom R16 (w/ ASIO driver) --> GTR 3 --> headphones. It will not run for example Guitar pro/YT sounds at the same time GTR 3 is open, which is super annoying since I want to play along. Tried multiple things like different ASIO drivers and even through the windows soundcard, but it wont work unfortunately. Just wat to know if I can use the Helix stomp w/ headphones and simultiously run guitar pro or any other sound program also through the headphones? (So: Guitar --> Stomp --> Pc (Edit which gives the commands to helix) --> Youtube --> Headphones)

(So: Guitar --> Stomp --> Pc (Edit which gives the commands to helix) --> Youtube --> Headphones) Hi, CrazyRedd, Simple answer - Yes! As noted by both “silverhead” and “rd2rk” - when the HX Stomp is connected via USB the Helix becomes your sound card, which means you can have a YouTube video running and you play along with it. If you have some backing tracks minus guitar on your PC, you can jam along with them. If you have a DAW on your computer, you can record and playback your guitar in that. Simple. The thing which appears to be confusing you is HX Edit. As the name implies, it’s simply an application with no audio processing capability, which allows you to remotely edit all the internal parameters of your hardware unit. This allows you to create, modify and store preset patches within the Stomp and the software can be used as a librarian for the presets. HX Edit doesn’t need to be open to use HX Stomp to play along with anything else. Hope this makes sense/helps. Edit: Set up is described/illustrated - Owner’s Manual - Pages 9 & 44 -USB Audio. Requires Line 6 ASIO Driver https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a4010c935bb66a4c0c44f/application/pdf/HX Stomp Manual - English .pdf
