stevieRay999
Hello from Germany! I just get my JTV-69 out of my bunch of various guitars and wonna have fun... As already mentioned in the title - when I turn off the electric way (playing with normal PUs) the tone poti has no effect, everything sounds "dull/dark" - no brightness. If I turn on the modelling the tone poti works fine. I really am not sure if this was the normal function when I recently used the Variax but... certainly I would heard it. Does anybody have an idea or even better a solution? I cannot imagine, that this little passive component can be broken because it works fine with different switch settings. Do I have a chance to fix it by myself when I open the guitar? Thanks so much and best regards, Wilfrid
psarkissian
Register the guitar in your account, then log a Support Ticket. It will have to be serviced by an authorized service technician, who knows the product. Not something to repair yourself if it needs a part. It's not an off-the-shelf part for it. line-6-user
In my case, I have the tone pot on my 69 a bit scratchy, moving it a few times it clears it and operates without any noise. Can it be cleaned by the user or does it need to be replaced?
psarkissian
Make certain the pot is not loose. If it is, carefully pull off the knob, tighten down the retainer nut, 1/4" hex socket, until it is good and snug. Not too tight, don't want to strip any threads. For cleaning pots and faders. line-6-user
Thanks for that, I'll be trying it as soon as I get the cleaner.
