akalchschmid
Hi all, probably there already is a similar topic already here, but I could not find something specific. I want to get a little amp for home to connect my Stomp Hx to. In the rehearsal room I use a Line 6 Spider Valve 112, and connect directly into the Power Amp section. At home it is just to sometimes play a bit louder, alone, or together with my girlfriend who plays cello, so not to compete with a complete band. Just a bit louder than standard indoor room volume. And the sound should be good of course ;) Does anyone have any good recommendations? I tried a Roland MicroCube, that worked, but the sound was really really crappy. Ideas I have so far are: Transistor: https://www.thomann.de/de/marshall_mg10g.htm Transistor: https://www.thomann.de/de/marshall_mg15g.htm Valve: https://www.thomann.de/de/laney_cub8.htm Active Speaker: https://www.thomann.de/de/fun_generation_pl_108_a.htm So long, Kalle
marmatkat
I’m really enjoying my Powercab 112 Plus at home. It’s got a nice punch in flat mode. I have a Helix LT.
ukphonebook
If you're using HX Stomp and want a great sound at home, you should use a powered PA speaker and use the amp modelling in Stomp. If you're feeding a modelled sound into a regular guitar amp, the sound may well be 'crappy'. The PowerCab is a great option, but quite pricey. I have used the HX Stomp though one of these and if the modelled sound in the Stomp is set up well, they sound great: https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/HeadRush-FRFR-108-2000W-Full-Range-Powered-1x8-Speaker/2T2A I know 2000 watts sounds OTT, but they're relatively inexpensive and sound good a lower volume.
