Spider iv 75 without FVB

To be clear, do not plug the amp directly into your computer using a (what seems to be compatible) ethernet cable!   To load patches to the Spider IV (and also to update the firmware in the amp), you need an FBV MkII pedal.

I just purchased a shortboard. Works fine changing patches, volume, wah,

but when I plug in the usb and start the editing software the fvb does nothing.

The software says I'm connected, but all it does is display some  cc values.

To be clear, the FBV  (must be MkII) is plugged into the computer via USB, and the amp to the FBV via the Cat5 cable right?  The FBV just acts like an interface for the computer to talk to the amp.
