357mag
I've had a HD Pro X and I was wondering what the differences are between the bean version and the HD Pro X. Does the bean version have less processing power? I would imagine the amp models are the same.
spaceatl
I used the HD Desktop for many years. The desktop actually has slightly more available DSP than the footboard models as I recall. The reason for that is the IO....No midi, FX Loop or VDI interface on the bean. I don't think it's a significant amount.
silverhead
Any DSP benefit to the HD Bean in terms of processing power because of the things mentioned is probably more than offset by the increased power of the ProX compared to the Pro (and Bean) because of the upgrade in chipset with the ProX (and not Pro or Bean). Overall I think the processing power difference is marginal, one way or the other.
