Hello everyone, when I switch snapshots on my HX Stomp theres this  strange sound thats hard to describe. I've set the global settings tempo to transparant like on other forum posts but no change.I'm wondering if I have one those units that have to be sent back to Line 6,Thanks.

Well, it’s kind of hard to offer advice if you don’t offer some sort of description… A recording would be even better.

I’d say that it is possible to have various sorts of sound artifacts when changing snapshots if you’re making drastic changes, especially changes in gain, from one snapshot to another.

I seriously doubt that gain is the culprit... nearly all of my patches have snapshots that cover the spectrum from crystal clean to saturated lead tones, and I don't get any funny artifacts. Time-based effects (mostly delays) on the other hand, if the tempo is being stored/ changed with snapshots, can cause all sorts of weirdness until the dust settles and repeats fade after the switching from one to the other.

But in the absence of any sort of real description of what's going on, we can all guess at a cause until we turn blue, and we'll get nowhere.

Is there a way I can go into global settings and turn off  the tempo storage,I do have it set to transparent. Thanks.

Are your delays setup with fixed millisecond settings?

I am not 100% certain about this... but I think the "authentic/transparent" global setting only works with time based delay settings which are controlled by tap tempo. If you set your delays via "milliseconds" I don't think that setting does anything.

(somebody please correct me if I am wrong)

FWIW.... I run two delays on my Helix. One is a fixed MS slapback setting, the other is a longer time based delay with the tap. The "transparent" global setting works great on that tap delay.
