First, which sound are you talking about... like, from which point in the video.

Second, I hate live sounds, because you never know how much has been changed from the original.

And until then...

single coils or P90s will certainly help.

Unless you are listening to Yes. In their case live music is always better than the recording....by a mile. But they are the exception to your distain for live sound.

To me the intro sounds like a Fender Tweed-style amp with a fair bit of gain, but he's playing with a very gentle pick attack and might even be rolling off a touch of guitar volume. Then, in the more driven section it could simply be where her rolls up the volume on the guitar and digs in to get the overdriven tone. I also hear some reverb, but that's a tricky one to ID.

Short answer is maybe start with a US Small Tweed amp model with the gain about 5. Roll off your guitar volume from 10 to say 7 or 8, play gently on the pick and see how that sounds for the intro. Then roll it up to 10 and go nuts for the rest of the song. Then try out some reverbs, but I do think there's some very low-mix shimmer going on in there in the intro.

Good luck.

It's going to be tough to get the intro tone and then the crunch tone with a single guitar and get them to both sound exact.  The intro is definitely a Tele with a very clean amp such as a Fender twin or even Jazz Rivet 120, but the crunch part is coming from the Guild and is very dependent on the humbuckers he's using through one of the more modern boutique style amps like a Soldano, Matchstick or maybe a Cartographer.  You could cheat it a little bit on the intro if you're using a humbucker guitar and go clean through a JC 120 using the bridge pickup, but it won't be exact.  I think if I were going to do it I'd just use a Archetype clean and then boost it with something like a Teemah pedal for the crunchy tone.  That would probably be the easiest route.

I mean live sounds - on video.

I find too many times that what we are hearing on video has been altered for tv sound more than music sound.
