noisey mags on jtv69s in positions 2 + 4

Using Spank for Strat tones, I use Variax sounds on position 1, 3, and 5, and just the magnetics on 2 + 4. When playing a note, getting a kind 

of "noise" along with the sound - it doesn't really sound like distortion, just distortion-like "sizzle-y"undertone only when string is plucked or even muted.

Need to have specifics. And even then....

 

What are you listening to it through? In which positions do you hear it? All of them? Just the models? Just the magnetics? Does it happen in other banks? Have you tried different guitar models in the Spank bank and does it occur then? Have you recreated the Spank bank in another bank and does it still happen there? Have you reselected a Spank model in the magnetics in the and if/when you do does it go away? Does it sound like the note itself is being distorted or like there is a hiss underneath the notes audio? While some single coils pickups are worse offenders than others (and those in the JTV's fall squarely in the "worse"category), you've basically just described every Strat on earth. They're all noisy, and positions 2 and 4 tend to be worse... it's the nature of the beast.
