khiryos
Hello, Someone in the comment section of the video below says that a user has created a tool for converting presets using cabs before 3.5 by replacing them by new IR cabs. Is it true? Can someone post the link, please? Thanks. ) sait

I only looked up the link for the OP. (Which took about 30 seconds). I didn’t try it out, so really I can’t provide a comment about how good it is, or isn’t. The guy behind it does state: Important! This tool is a personal project in very early development, He has an email link on the page, maybe he is open to requests, and contributions to help him develop it to that level - if it’s even feasible. Drop him a line, who knows how it will progress?

I am not speaking English very well, so maybe you used the right words in the search field. Anyway, this is what I looked for. Thank you for that. I hope this will help other people too in the forum.

I just glanced at the "tool" in question.... export preset upload preset to site choose target cab download preset import preset tweak new cab block Existing way.... copy preset to new location change cab tweak new cab block IMO, I can't understand how that tool would simplify anything.

I sent the guy an email and he's working on making it able to process entire setlists.

That’s exactly what I was thinking - it should be easy enough to swap cabs as and when you need to change them.

Yep, but it's not convenient to do the same thing two hundred times. I was not aware of what the tool was not able to do (converting entire setlists) unless the link was posted, by the way. DunedinDragon
I'm just not sure in practice how much time it would really save. Ultimately replacing old cabs with new ones is going to take some experimentation to find the right combination of configurations. Once you find that and save it off as a favorite it only takes a moment to replace and existing an old cab with a new tested and approved favorite in other presets, so it's not clear how any software is going to do that any more efficiently. You're right. In the end, they are just two different ways of working. One way is more suitable than the other, depending on people.
