Id be more careful on the quit/shut down/sleep/wakeup procedure, as there are chipsets that are going BSOD when triggering a driver that is calling for a missing ext device. So for example, if you put your DAW in sleep, and you turn off your helix, better to turn ON helix again before wake up the DAW. I'm talking for personal experience and lot of suffering... :D

Most of the time my PC is always powered up and I just put it to sleep when I'm not going to be using it.  I power up my studio equipment (which includes the Helix) separately when needed and turn it off generally when not using it and I've never had any problems doing it this way for years.
