dchua02
Hi everyone, I have a Pod Go with me and I was thinking to increase my "pedalboard" besides just Pod Go. I was wondering whether you could integrate Hx Stomp into Pod Go? Like instead of buying individual pedals, just buy a Hx Stomp and connect it to the Pod Go to function as "individual pedals". Does it affect the DSP in Pod Go? Was there any issues? Do the Hx Stomp and Pod Go function normally? I want to use Pod Go as the main pedal to control volume while Hx Stomp acts as extra pedals. I don't have a Hx Stomp so I can't try it myself. Am hoping someone could try and let me know is it feasible or its straight up stupid. silverhead
It sounds like you don’t plan to use the amp modeling in the HX Stomp, so it would seem to be a waste to have (and presumably pay for) it. Have you considered the HX FX instead of the HX stomp? The HX FX is designed to be used like a set of external FX pedals which seems to be what you want. dchua02
Oh wow great recommendation! I did not consider that at all. The difference between Hx Stomp and HX FX is just the amp modelling correct? It might sound like a dumb question, but does adding HX FX into Pod Go affect the DSP in Pod Go? I'm not sure how the DSP works for external plug ins or is it only concerned for the internal individual pedal boxes.

DSP = Digital Signal Processing, in this case it just represents a % of the available PGO resources / CPU capabilities. The FX Loop, according to https://benvesco.com/store/helix-dsp-allocations/ has a cost, but unless you use a custom patch which has removed the default effects, it's always there, so it makes zero difference if you plug in external effects or not. The way the Go works is that it L6 has computed the cost in terms of performance, has reserved that % so that the PGO CPU for instance has always enough CPU/memory speed so that it never slows down because there are too many effects and not enough CPU. So, if empty go is 100%, when you add an amp, you subtract 20% because it will take around 20% of the CPU to work, so you have 80% left, etc., so you can never slow down or overload PGO, as it will prevent you from adding anything which would do so. There are other differences between the HX Stomp and the HX FX but the amp modeling is the main one for your situation. For instance, the HX FX cannot be used as an audio interface device while the HX Stomp can. The HX FX is designed specifically for your situation. Further to grdGo33’s response, adding the HX FX into the POD Go’s FX Loop does not affect the DSP in the POD Go. The FX Loop is included in every POD Go preset so that small amount of DSP is always allocated whether or not you actually connect anything using it.
