jwelliott10191
Hi there - I am a huuuuge fan of the HX Stomp. The Preamp block option left me thinking: wouldn’t it be cool to be able to take a preamp block and create a custom power section to go with it? Apply variables for custom tune selections, variable saturation transformers, resonance and presence controls.. the possibilities are endless. My other wishlist items would be a full complement of Mesa Mark series models, including the Mk 1,3,5 (Extreme) and 7 models - having all Mesa’s mark amps available would be truly amazing. Also, one of my favorite models from the X3 POD was the JCM 900 HGDR. Having this available or even an SL-X would fill An obvious gap in sonic coverage. My Stomp does nearly everything I need on its own., all but the things stated above. That would make it, for my purposes, perfect. I know you guys have your own production timeline, but this is something that’s come up repeatedly in discussions with other HX users. And their take was that support had been unresponsive at best. I’ve never found you guys to turn a deaf ear to artists and other musicians who felt some features could be added or improved to your groundbreaking tech. Thanks for lending an ear to the insane ramblings of a guitarist and designer who spends way too many late nights thinking about cool gear and crazy design ideas. Tone keeps me up at night! thanks again, John Elliott
rd2rk
Hello, and Welcome! First things first. This is a user-to-user support forum. NOBODY from Line6 hangs out here. If you want them to see your suggestion post it here: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/ But FIRST, do a search. This has been suggested MANY times. Now for the reality portion of our broadcast. Digital Igloo (Eric Klein, Chief Product Designer) has stated that the L6 product philosophy, at least in part, is that if somebody else is already doing it, and doing it well, they're not going to do it. Fractal does it (I think). Positive grid has been doing it for, like, 10 years? There's probably others, that's just 2 off the top of my head. Here's my view - I don't care. There're enough great sounding amps in Helix that I don't feel the need to invent new ones. Also, the design team has been coming up with new and original amp designs since the POD Bean days. I'd rather see them spending their development dollars doing more of that, and maybe original effects? Anyhow, do post over on Ideascale because you're right, you're not the only one who wants that. But search first and VOTE for all the others who got there before you!
DunedinDragon
I couldn't agree more with @rd2rkin that even though it's not something I'd be interested in, it's been mentioned enough that your voice should be added to it through ideascale because Line 6 is clearly influenced by popular vote count and everyone is different in how they use their Helix. For me I just don't think it would make enough difference for my audience. They simply wouldn't know or care that I was creating my own power stack. There's more than enough versatility in the models they've given us to keep my audiences happy with my performance and for me to tailor any sound I need to match whatever type of song I need to play.
SaschaFranck
Sorry to possibly come across as a smartass or so, but where's the awsomeness in these requests? People are asking for separate power amp models pretty much since day one and as far as new amp models are concerned, I'm sure each and every amp on earth has been asked for already. Sure, valid requests (especially the poweramp one, as it'd add some new core functionality), yet IMO far from qualifying as "awsome".

Well, as the list of guitar amps in the HX range currently stands at 88 with another 17 bass amps available, surely that’s enough for anyone to play around with? IME, most users have never auditioned more than just a few of their real world favourites. There are some items in there that most young people would never have heard of. Give them a whirl. Trying out a single new model everyday to find out what you can achieve would keep you occupied for the best part of 3 months. Given that there are only 4 types of guitar amplifier (tube, solid state, hybrid and modelling), I really cannot see what your idea can bring to the table that hasn’t already been covered. Nope, I can’t see this gaining any traction after 8 years of production and development of what we already have. I bought my Helix when it was first released, based on what it could do then, everything else has been a bonus, yet some folks seem to think that because they bought into the Helix system that they should be supplied with (entitled to) an endless roll call of boutique gear. Nah! Get a grip, and enjoy what you have, and then let us know when you have exhausted all the options already available in your HX Stomp. That should keep you awake at night for quite a some time. Hope this helps/makes sense (but maybe not!) Well... err..., yeah, it's a bit tough to say so, but even as someone who was always playing the "enough amps already, use what's there, who cares about authentic XYZ?" advocate, I have to admit that the amps added in the 3.7 update are just fantastic and pretty much all I'm using now (in case the HX Stomp is my amp platform, which it isn't all the time). Especially the 2203 and Voltage amps are great and pretty much the best dirt pedal platform I can imagine. Oh yes, I would've gotten along just fine without them, and in case I had the choice between those and, say, a global block functionality being added, I'd take the latter in a heartbeat - but still, I can't deny having huge fun with those new amp additions. In a nutshell, I'm a bit split-minded. In general, I rather take new functionality and utilitarian improvements over more sounds any day, though.
stumblinman
In the past 4 years, I've bought a Stomp for my son, then a Stomp XL a year or two later to integrate into my Mesa Mark V rig, and then last week bought the Helix LT because the Stomps were underpowered for what I needed these days with my Soldano Astro 20 gigging rig, which is the poly capo and other effects. I've had multiple L6 Pods, DT amps, Variaxes, and now multiple HX products. Oh yeah, I had HXFX for a while as well. In all that time, I've used the amp models less than 10 times. I use it for the multi fx capabilities and routing options. I also have a Kemper which stays at my practice pad and I haul the Stomp XL there just to use the Poly Capo for the songs that require it, and other fx come from Kemper. I WISH the Kemper had the fx capabilities of the HX series. The amps as a whole are great, and once you find a basic amp you're happy with, you should be able to achieve any sound you seek between the amp parameters, dual cabs, IR's, Eq's.. your tones are in there man! I feel like you're kinda getting dogpiled on here, but it's true that your request is fairly niche for the average plank spanker. Head to ideascale and submit or vote up other folks' similar requests and your wish may be granted. In any case, welcome to the forums!
