ashleyfairfield
Hello everyone, I'm experiencing a frustrating issue when attempting to switch to a boosted solo preset on my Helix LT—it produces a loud cracking noise, which is quite unpleasant. I've attempted to lower the gain on the amp block, but it hasn't resolved the problem. Does anyone have a straightforward fix to eliminate this bothersome sound? Any advice would be greatly valued. theElevators
First of all, you mentioned you are using a "solo preset". I would highly recommend you use snapshots instead. Even with snapshots Helix has this problem, although not as bad: If you turn on one amp and turn off another amp, there'll be a loud "boing" sound. If you turn on the distortion pedal, there'll also be some amount of noise. To overcome that you need to use one preset, and put blocks inside A/B path. Make sure both blocks are running, and simply switch between them. Sometimes you may want to try to rearrange your blocks in a different order. So I would suggest starting out with using snapshots, that will definitely minimize the noise.
themetallikid
is the sound just when the preset is loaded as in digital clipping? or is it happening during the switch to the lead preset? While I agree with 'Elevators' use of snapshots instead, depending on when the sound is happening that could help determine why. Are the rhythm and lead presets exactly the same (as in copied rhythm to a new preset) and then you added something to the lead preset to make it stand out? If so, what was added.....?? Schmalle
Post the lead preset if you want a diagnosis on why it crackles.
